Iraq and Russia resumed air traffic interrupted 13 years ago

On board the ship, which landed at Vnukovo, was a delegation led by Iraqi Transport Minister Kazem Hamami.

The agency notes that the governments of Russia and Iraq have agreed to open regular direct communication between the cities of the two countries in 2015 year. Then the meeting participants also decided to consider the possibility of flying from the city of Erbil (Iraq) to St. Petersburg and Kazan.

At the same time, it was reported that from the Iraqi side, flights will be operated by “Iraqi Airways or another carrier”, “the Russian delegation stated that it would announce the appointment of an air carrier on its part at a later stage”.

Air traffic with Iraq was interrupted in 2004. The initiator of the ban was Russia, which pointed to the insufficient level of flight safety due to the deteriorating situation in Iraq.

Iraqi Airways was created in 1945 year, in 60-s it purchased in the USSR passenger aircraft Tu-124 and transport IL-76 to carry out cargo flights.

If they pay well, then why not help, and the USSR is no more, albeit unfortunately.

I assumed this, I would like to be more specific - in what was expressed the “insufficient level of flight safety”, the lack of democracy on board the liner as an officialdom is unlikely

Not so simple. They are under tight American control, especially in the field of finance, so it’s not difficult to guess where the main financial flows will go.

Tourists without cameras do not need regular passenger flights that can explode in dozens! Yes, and Iraq is not the best place for tourism. We just had one moron from Tomsk who decided to travel around Syria alone. The blue pigeon of the world is left to your left.

Iraq is under the tutelage of Iran in spite of all the efforts of the United States to put its puppet there, however, the United States itself “removed” the Sunni Saddam, thereby bringing Shiites to power in the country.
So Iraq will be getting closer to us
