Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu addressed the administration and the residents of the small Italian town of Val-Sotto in Tuscany. The head of the defense department of the Russian Federation thanked the Italians for creating a memorial in their city that immortalized the memory of the Russian officer of the Special Operations Forces Alexander Prokhorenko who died in the Aleppo area.

From the message of the RF Ministry of Defense on the page in Facebook:
In the Italian city of Vali Sotto, the local authorities received a letter of thanks from the Minister of Defense of Russia, Sergei Shoigu. In the letter, the head of the Russian defense department expressed gratitude to the residents of the city for the creation of a monument to the Hero of the Russian Federation Alexander Prokhorenko, who died in the Syrian Arab Republic.

The monument was installed about a month ago in recognition of the merits of the Russian officer in the fight against international terrorism.

Recall that Alexander Prokhorenko died on March 17, 2016 in the Syrian Arab Republic, caused the fire of the Russian military aviation upon himself at the moment when he was surrounded by ISIS terrorists (* prohibited in the Russian Federation). Then several dozen terrorists-igilovtsev were eliminated.

Alexander Prokhoronko's relatives, in an interview with federal media, reported that letters of gratitude to them came from many different countries of the world, including Italy. Literally in each of the letters it is said that their son is an example of a real man and an officer.

In October last year, a bust of Alexander Prokhorenko was opened at the Military Academy of military air defense. A photo Ministry of Defence:

Thanks to the Italians! Someone demolishes the monuments (we won’t show a finger), other people put them. Honor and praise be to them.

There is one namesake .. "Dima" with a Zashtatnik flag is offended that they are called "poopers, brothers" and further down the list. So I asked, what should I call you after all?

I wrote to VO Admins about collecting money for a normal monument to Alexander Prokhorenko (not a bust or a memorial tablet) in Moscow, St. Petersburg or Volgograd (the place of military glory) ... and I wrote an article. But there are a lot of problems with this all, and fundraising is the simplest in this matter. Need a place, a bunch of documents, permissions, etc. ... I would like to know the opinion of members of the forum and maybe one of them can help in this matter.

Here's what I’ll say .. I support you, and instead of taking monthly money for a profile, it would be better for administrators to collect for a good deed.

I don’t know, but my opinion is that someone who could help is unlikely to be in VO. And so I fully support you.
