Tankman Day in Russia
In our country story tank forces have deep - almost centuries-old roots. It is officially believed that the first domestic tank was created in Nizhny Novgorod in 1920 year. By the beginning of World War II, the Red Army tank park was made up of light tanks T-26 and BT, medium tanks T-34 and heavy KV-1.
Despite the most difficult conditions, tank technology continued to improve during the war.
In the summer of 1942, four tank armies were created, equipped with new machines: KV-85, EC-2, EC-3.
Tank troops during the Great Patriotic War were always on the front line. Fighting vehicles broke through the defenses and restrained the offensive of the enemy, and the battle of Prokhorovka in 1943 went down in history as the largest battle of armored forces in the history of mankind.
In memory of the heroism of the Soviet tankers in the liberated cities are monuments tank, which is one of the victorious symbols of the Great Patriotic War. That legendary "34-ka" broke through in Berlin first during the offensive operation.
For courage and heroism shown in the fight against the Nazi invaders, the 1142 tanker soldier received the title Hero of the Soviet Union. 16 of them were awarded this title twice. More than 9 thousands of tank builders, who forged the Great Victory in the rear, were also awarded high state awards. The work of tank builders is also immortalized in the exposition of the museum of armored vehicles UralVagonZavod - one of the world leaders in the tank industry.
Today, the tank forces of the Armed Forces of Russia, as a branch of troops in the Ground Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, are their main striking force and powerful defense assets.
Modern tanks are able to overcome water obstacles, conduct active hostilities during the day and at night, make rapid marches at impressive speeds.
Tanks were and remain one of the main active forces in conflicts with direct contact of opponents. Take, for example, the conflict 2008 of the year - an operation to force Georgia to peace. Without a powerful tank support operation could well be delayed for a longer period. And the number of victims of the conflict on the Russian and South Ossetian sides would be different.
Today, there are approximately 22 thousand tanks in the active forces and in storage in the arsenals of the Russian army.
This is according to the official site of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Armed with domestic tank forces are three models of tanks: T-72, T-80 and T-90 in various versions.
One of the priority tasks for the development of tank forces is the modernization of the tank fleet.
So after the modernization of the T-90 tank, the new machine turned out to be in fact, to which a keen interest was shown in the armed forces of foreign countries. Recall that after the tank biathlon, Indian media wrote that without modernizing the development of the T-90 fleet of the Indian Armed Forces, all of India’s defense sector would not be. On the one hand, we can say that Indian journalists blamed T-90, which had been acquired from the Russian Federation at the time, for failing at the Tank Biathlon. But on the other hand, such a publication is also an impetus for the Indian Ministry of Defense in the direction of the modernization of tanks under the Russian scheme. So far the question is, who will lead this scheme in India to implementation?
Tank building of Russia is in constant development. The basis of the new types of combat vehicles laid the most recent achievements of science and technology. In their tactical and technical characteristics, they are significantly superior to the tanks of previous generations. Moreover, the use of new materials, which are being worked on by Russian scientists, plays its role here.
As part of the state rearmament program, the military department signed a contract with representatives of Uralvagonzavod to manufacture 2,3 thousand Armata T-14 tanks up to 2020-2025 of the year. It was originally ... Recently, the numbers have been adjusted to reduce the volume of the order with a statement about the desirability of upgrading existing tank units.
In 2015, a pilot batch of 20 tanks was made, in 2016, the serial (pilot) production of tanks began.
Tank T-14 "Armata" is a fundamentally new and completely Russian development. The use of a special coating makes the car almost invisible in the thermal and radar spectra of observation. Armat "Armata" is able to withstand the hit of any existing anti-tank weapons, at least, the manufacturer insists on such an assessment.
This is the first Russian tank, which creates a digital information management system - “digital board”. It starts up, controls, diagnoses and adjusts the parameters of the mechanisms. Makes the tank itself a unit of network-centric operation with the possibility of adjusting the actions of the crew from the command post, even in combat conditions.
T-14 "Armata" can use high-explosive fragmentation, armor-piercing and cumulative projectiles, guided missiles with electronic, satellite and infrared guidance.
The T-14 is more than just a tank in the usual sense of the word. This is a shock universal machine that combines the missile system, anti-aircraft anti-aircraft system, reconnaissance complex and, in fact, the tank itself.
We hope that after carrying out all the necessary tests, a sufficient number of such machines will go to the troops - with the elimination of previously identified defects. The entire test complex of the latest Russian tank should be completed by 2020 year.
