In the Russian trade mission in Washington began searches. According to the press secretary of the Russian embassy, diplomats are present during the searches.
The trade mission itself stated that they considered the searches as a raider seizure violating international conventions. At the same time, he noted that they had taken all the things necessary for the functioning of the diplomatic mission.
Earlier today, the Foreign Ministry handed in a note of protest to the adviser to the envoy of the US Embassy in Moscow because of the plans of the United States authorities to search the Russian trade mission in Washington. The Foreign Ministry called the searches an unprecedented, aggressive action, which the American intelligence services, having planted incriminating objects, can be used for provocations.
The Foreign Ministry also noted that Moscow reserves the right to retaliate, and demanded an end to "gross violations of international law and to abandon encroachment on the immunity of Russia's diplomatic institutions."
Who did not have time to start the broadcast, a little clarification from Russia 24:
The State Department had previously demanded the closure of the Russian consulate in San Francisco and the two trade mission buildings in Washington and New York until September 2, citing this as a response to Moscow’s proposal to reduce the number of employees of the US diplomatic mission in Russia. Russia called these actions unfriendly step.
