Meanwhile, the representative of one of the national battalions of Ukraine, Dmitry Babkin, claims that “no green corridor” was provided for the Ukrainian military near Ilovaisk. Babkin voiced his “logic” in the following form: through the “green corridor”, only unarmed and demoralized Ukrainian military were allowed to exit. It turns out that some brave Ukrainian military expected to leave the corridor in full gear - with a preserved arsenal? Interesting logic.
Another Ukrainian natsbatovets Vladimir Gunko in an interview with the Ukrainian media said that under Ilovaisk they "survived like cockroaches." From the interview:
Then we lost more equipment, and we did not have a lot of it or it was faulty. There was no normal artillery support. We did not understand why we sat still, why we did not carry on the offensive operation further. There was enough manpower, there was not enough ammunition and heavy weapons to occupy the second part of Ilovaisk. And we could take it if we had the support of several tanks and serviceable infantry fighting vehicles or armored personnel carriers. And so we just took up the defense and survived like cockroaches. (...) Ukrainian generals should be responsible (for the events in Ilovaysk).
But not a single Ukrainian general answered for the failure. Instead, they continue to declare in Ukraine that they are “taking up prepared positions” and about how “Russian tanks were famously destroyed”.

From the story of the Ukrainian serviceman Vasyl Tarasyuk on the air of TSN (Lieutenant Tarasyuk was recently awarded the title “Hero of Ukraine” by President Poroshenko):
There was a period when our positions were disturbed by enemy tanks, and a lot of guys were seriously injured. That was the last straw. At that time, with my platoon commander, I prepared the positions on which the grenade launcher was located. One day, when I was passing by the position, I heard the sound of technology and realized that there is an opportunity to destroy a tank. He was alone and very clearly jumped into his position. The tank managed to make one shot at the guys in the next position. I shot on it to switch it on yourself. It was a shot next to him in the Gusyanka area. After that I corrected and made a new shotwho got into it. The tank began to smoke, and I thought that it was already a victory. For the fact that he was to me frontal part, which is the most protected, I'm the second shot hit by it. He smoked again. While I recharged to make a new shot, he shot me. He hit very close to me. The earth shook, but even more wanted to destroy it ... After I reloaded, he managed to shoot me again. I shot and hit it again. He smoked again. I reloaded again and wanted to consolidate success, but at the last moment a tank shell flew out of the smokethat got right in my position. I can not say that I was saved. Some kind of spirit, because I was thrown away. Then there was the information that the tank was taken away and it no longer works. After that, I could not get out of position for a long time. Thanks to a commander from another company ... he drove up in an unarmored car and took me.
The fascinating story of the lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine about how the lieutenant and the tank fired at least four times at each other, as a result of which the tank "stopped working" ...
