The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland presented a diplomatic note to the Russian ambassador in the republic, expressing dissatisfaction with the difficulties in accessing the crash site of 10 on April 2010 of the presidential plane Tu-154М near Smolensk. The Polish side considers the previous obligations to be valid and expects the Russian side to refrain from any actions that could in any way impede free and unhindered access to the crash site. Tu-154

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland "now, at the moment of accumulation of controversial issues, in order to try to resolve them fairly, a bilateral dialogue at an appropriate level is needed, which would be based on mutual respect and understanding of the intentions of the other side." As the Ministry informed, during the meeting the representative of the Foreign Ministry with the Russian ambassador also discussed the topic of construction at the site of the monument’s catastrophe. The Polish side "expressed readiness to return to negotiations on this topic."
