Russian humanitarian aid for Syria

39
According to Vesti.ru, the UN Security Council held a meeting on North Africa and the Middle East. The main topic of the meeting was the conflict between the Syrian government and opposition groups. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov.

He pointed out that the Russian Federation is ready to begin discussing the UN Security Council resolution on Syria - but subject to the parties ’five points previously agreed with the Arab League: on ending the violence by all parties, on an objective monitoring mechanism, on the absence of external interference, on unhindered access for humanitarian aid all Syrians, about the support of the Special Representative of the Arab League and the UN, Kofi Annan, who is ordered to start a political dialogue between all opposition groups and the Syrian government.

But above all, as the diplomat believes, a cease-fire should be achieved in Syria. The minister emphasized that if all the parties sincerely want to stop the violence and help the civilian population, then it’s not necessary to speak about “who first started”, but about realistic approaches that would allow achieving a cease-fire immediately.

Lavrov noted that the emotional demands for regime change in Syria, unilateral sanctions imposed, which caused economic difficulties and additional social tension in the country, and, moreover, encouragement of oppositionists to anti-government confrontation (instead of facilitating political dialogue), there were calls for support armed uprising and even external intervention, is nothing more than the recipes for risky "geopolitical engineering", according to Lavrov, "leading only to the growth of confessional iqta ".

The US Secretary of State, in turn, once again called on the international community to support the approach to the Syrian situation developed by the Arab League. Earlier, the PRC and the Russian Federation voted against the version of the resolution proposed by the League of Arab States.

Hillary Clinton said that the United States took note that in Cairo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Arab League fully agreed to end the violence, implement unhindered humanitarian access and start a political dialogue mediated by Kofi Annan and built on UN and LAS resolutions. .

“The time has come,” Clinton said, “when all countries, even those that previously blocked our efforts, rallied and supported the humanitarian and political approach developed by the League of Arab States. The world community must speak with one voice, without doubts or reservations, that the killing of innocent citizens of Syria must be stopped, and the political process must begin. ”

It should be noted that the Russian Federation was the first country to provide humanitarian aid to Syria.

The EMERCOM Information Department reported that two special flights to the capital of Syria - Damascus - delivered one hundred thirty 10- and 30-local tents, two hundred blankets, six hundred and fifty boxes of canned fish, nine hundred boxes of canned meat, two hundred forty bags of sugar, 99 boxes of dishes, a hundred sets of field folding kitchens and 680 boxes of baby food.

Recall that earlier Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reported that Russia will allocate a million Swiss francs for the work of the Red Cross in Syria. The minister noted that such a step is dictated by the value attached in Russia to helping the civilian population affected in Syria. The minister also said that Russia will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to Syria in other forms.

Humanitarian aid is a useful thing, people then see who helps and who kills. Yes, and cheaper weapons cost.

Please note that the agreement to end the violence is presented as absolute (without subparagraphs and reservations made by Russia), is presented very loudly and linked to the LAS project, which was discussed earlier (and was vetted by Russia and China) and the mandatory opening of corridors (on whom the alliance insisted from the very beginning, as on possible ways of supplying gangs). It is said loudly about reaching agreement, but the conditions are not indicated. Against the backdrop of all the hype in the Western media about the need to accept the terms of the alliance without reservations, this agreement is presented as Washington’s unconditional and logical victory in this matter, and Russia is presented as a party yielding to pressure. They correctly substitute Russia and our leadership simply needs to increase information pressure in this area by 200% so that no one (and first of all, the Syrians!) Has any doubts about Russia’s pursuing its political line.

I think the first step of Russia in the information "battle" was sending humanitarian aid - and it helps people and shows "who is who."

That's right .. Yusa is very happy about this turn of events ... You can beautifully remove your ass from the fire ... Russia, now we need to talk in every way about our and Chinese positions ... We must not be silent and behold, but make peace in Syria merit .. Let’s grin, let them talk about the efforts of everyone .. We need to clearly say who wanted what and how and how it wanted ... And we also need to talk about the military danger of the attacks of Western countries ... Even shout ...

Well, not in dollars is Syria's help to measure, think for yourself, it is not logical how it will turn out. It would have been better in rubles, but it will do just that, quite "politically correct".

          Absolutely!
Especially since they have already been there "sir" and quite well and "taught" and "advised", and sometimes "directly helped"!
But Syria can not be "given away" to amers!
Therefore, Lavrov is a great fellow (well, his "bosses" are the same!)! Beginning to show "teeth" in foreign policy (it's high time!)
The Amer understands very well that humanitarian aid is accompanied by "normal" aid!
And if Syria and Iran conclude an agreement, or at least a protocol of intent will sign on mutual assistance, including the military aspects, then the "amers" and the Eupes will definitely be "complete f ... a" in their "strategic plans and" ideas "!!!
So Russia is forward, in every sense! It’s time in practice to move from words to deeds!
