For the first time, Russian navy sailors will take part in DANEX international exercises

As reported yesterday by RIA "News", Warships of the Baltic fleet in September 2012, they will participate for the first time in the DANEX 2012 naval exercises. This was announced by the representative of the Western Military District in the Baltic Fleet, Captain II rank V. Matveev.
He said that nearly fifty Navy ships from twenty countries would participate in the DANEX-2012 exercises, scheduled for 1-12 in September. Among them - Germany Italy, Denmark, Portugal and others. About four thousand troops will be involved in these exercises.
As V. Matveyev pointed out, today in the city of Jonstrup (Denmark) a military delegation from the Russian Federation will take part in a forum on planning maritime exercises. At this conference, representatives of the participating States will discuss the organization of the Baltic exercises and their plan.
Matveyev added that the main goal of the planned exercises will be to work out the interaction of the multinational ship grouping of naval forces of different countries in resolving a local conflict and conducting an operation of peacekeeping forces.
