- Rogozin explained.
According to him, the type of aircraft being developed will be in demand not only in the RF Armed Forces, but also among foreign consumers.
As Bevziuk pointed out, the SVTS project is in the pre-contract phase:
When creating the aircraft, in his words, the achievements of IL-related programs IL-76, IL-112 and others will be in demand.
Bevzyuk has already begun to form a team of specialists with experience in Russian and foreign aviation programs.
SVTS is a tactical military transport aircraft. First of all, it is intended to replace the An-12, the flight resource of which, after 2024, will be exhausted.
Initially, the project was developed by Il, Irkut Corporation and the Indian company Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) in accordance with the 2007 agreement of the year. But at the end of 2015, Delhi left the project. According to the publication, this was caused by financial difficulties and the reluctance of the military to accept the aircraft.
The appearance of the car has not yet been determined. However, the company claims that the dimensions of the cargo compartment and a significant part of the onboard equipment will be unified with the Il-76MD-90А military transport aircraft, which serial production has been established in Ulyanovsk.
It is planned to allocate 3 billion rubles for the implementation of the SVTS project this year.
