As the news portal "Messenger of Mordovia", The T-72М1 tank of the Syrian government forces, equipped with the so-called" corner protection ", withstood the American-made TOW anti-tank guided missile.

Syrian T-72М1 with "corner protection" withstood the ATGM

The ATGM was trying to hit the right front of the tower. The protective steel screens mounted in this place were torn off, the infrared illuminator was completely destroyed. But, apparently, the machine remained intact and able to perform combat missions.

In early 2017, the Syrian military began to install instead of lattice screens on Tanks T-72M1 solid armored plates located at an angle in the front upper part of the hull, on the tower and sides. In this case, the standard dynamic protection "Contact" is not dismantled. In addition, a steel box is welded into the vulnerable lower frontal part of the tank’s hull, which is usually filled with sand and gravel.

During the fighting in the vicinity of Damascus was hit and destroyed T-72М1 with the specified protection, was in service with the elite 105-th brigade of the Republican Guard.

In general, tanks have once again proved that it is too early to write them off. Only in the city they have nothing to do so far. Well, until you get "glass walls" and all sorts of reconnaissance to detect opponents AT ALL LEVELS. In the usual execution of questionnaires on city streets without a NORMAL infantry cover, it is more a victim than a hunter.

yeah, we are already printing rumors and speculation
But, apparently, the car remained in good condition

What does "apparently" mean? Have you come up with that?

I think, after all, that the DZ worked normally, plus the frontal armor
towers. Together they scattered the cum jet. And the corners - .... are doubtful.

Any shielding is still against cumulative ammunition. As an addition to the standard protection.

Somehow it was sorted out in. To make the screen work
        it should be:
        1) quite far from the hull (or tower)
        2) be durable (ribs made of steel of approximately 10 mm)
        3) the ribs should be located often.
Then such a screen is capable of damaging the main inner copper cone of the tandem rocket.
The design is heavy and bulky. It is difficult to attach to the tank.
It is deformed under its own weight, etc.

          Hello warrior hi
Somehow it was sorted out in. To make the screen work ...

All right. But these requirements apply to lattice
anti-cumulative screens, and the “little protection” is more like a hinged additional reservation, somewhat related to the case ... Something else is curious why the Contact is not hung over the “corners”? In this case, a much more broken and unfocused jet would enter the main armor ...
Well, in this case, the ATGM flew right into the "thickest" part of the armor ...

Take a closer look, the inscription on the armor is straight that you got it from the TOU, not the RPGshnik. We discuss garbage.

If you go to the link about the destroyed tank, then we read:

Apparently, the tank was stuck in ruins and was repeatedly fired from anti-tank systems. As a result, the “corner” plates were shot down, the equipment was hit, the ammunition set on fire and, as a result, the car was destroyed.

That is, the car turned into a motionless defenseless target. It is clear that in such a situation, even armor like that of a battleship will not save if the enemy has the opportunity to shoot the tank as if in a shooting range - point-blank, from any angle, without rushing and in complete safety. So this episode is not about anything in terms of the quality of protection, but about the training, motivation of the Assad tankers who trapped the tank, and especially the infantrymen who threw it to pieces, even as it says.

"Ilyich’s eyebrows" of the 1980s protect the tower more reliably than all the artisanal modern options. Can it just set up a factory at the factory and send them kits?

By this, I would like to say that the reprint of 5 articles of the Bulletin of Mordovia is where the template is: “We’ve noticed Syria’s government forces ...” (Next, select the name of the weapons model seen on the Internet and provide a brief reference from the wiki) this is a crisis of the genre.

And Ostap handed the Uhudshansky sheet on which it was written:

        CELEBRATION KIT
ESSENTIAL GUIDE FOR COMPOSING ANNIVERSARY ARTICLES,
TABLE FEVELETONS, AS WELL AS PARADE PARAMENTS,
        OD AND TROPAY

        Section I. Dictionary
        Nouns
        Blades ...

        http://ostap.org.ru/gcalf28.php

And about the ancient antiquity of the T-72, it seems like this is your main tank and therefore it’s not worth publishing an article every time the TOU fails to set it on fire for one reason or another.

So the "unkillable" "Abrams", from the moment of release already how many modifications? So the T-72 has a newer upgrade.
In my opinion, the article is talking about an earlier version of the tank, which is in service with many countries and which gives an example for self-improvement.
