The Northern Fleet received two new raid boats for emergency and rescue support of project 23040. The Nizhegorodskiy Teplohod plant and the Russian Ministry of Defense signed two acceptance and transfer acts for the RVK-1229 and RVK-1230 boats for service in the Northern Diving Service fleet.
According to the press service of the plant, RVK-1229 and RVK-1230 are the 17 and 18 boats of the 23040 series. Initially, the plant received an order for 16 of such vessels, but later the series was increased to 22 boats. Currently built 20 ships project 23040. June 8 launched the 19 and 20 series boats - the RVK-1239 and RVK-1261. In the near future, they will undergo sea trials and enter the Pacific Fleet, reports Flot.com.
The diving boats of the 23040 project proved to be excellent in the Northern, Pacific, Baltic fleets and the Caspian flotilla. Along with performing diving operations at depths up to 60 meters at sea waves up to 3 points, the new generation is able to carry out prospecting works with the help of a small remote-controlled uninhabited underwater vehicle and a towed sonar.
In addition, 23040 boats can effectively extinguish fires on ships and ships, floating and coastal facilities up to 30 meters, pump out water from an emergency ship and provide power to the ship or ship de-energized as a result of the accident.
Boats of the 23040 project are a further development of the A160 project series, built in 2010-2012 for the State Marine Rescue Service of Russia, as well as the diving boat of the ZT28D Pelican project. The ships have high power and ice class, which allows them to work confidently on external raids and beyond, away from their bases to 50 miles.
