Best of the best: MiG-31 and MiG-25 fighters

These two aircraft may not be as elegant as the Su-27 or MiG-29. Maybe they can not do the Cobra or the Dead Loop, because they immediately fly off into space. And of course, they do not fly as beautifully as the Su-35C and seem a bit square, but they actually do not need any grace, aerobatics or beautiful flight, because these two fighters are the fastest production aircraft on our planet. They fly so high that the pilots have to wear space suits, not to mention that not even all missiles can catch up with them.

Placed on the MiG-25 AFS ("Peony-3P"), was Deputy. Ch. designer, then Ch. Con That was in 1964. Then, with this, the MiG-25R in 1972 participated in the hostilities in Egypt. From NII-33 there were three experts in turn: me, Anjan S.M., Nalivaiko D.A. Our responsibilities included setting the flight route of the MiG-25R through the PMP on the instrument "RSBN-6S". He knew about the route: a cryptographer, one of us and a pilot. This is how we worked. Therefore, they did not lose a single aircraft. Then, on the MiG-31, the equipment for equipment from NII-33 was already more complicated, I had to answer for its entire complex. Therefore, he met Lozino-Lozinsky G.E., he was the first Gl.Kon. this interceptor. I have the honor.

Respect for such a machine, I was a 2nd year cadet when Belenko MiG-25 surpassed to Japan. The security stamp was reduced to a chipboard in one day (for official use). But the mattresses were still afraid of him to their full trousers. After school, he ended up serving in Novochuguevka. Who knows, he understands.

Interesting car. Of the close analogues, perhaps the only one remaining in service. I think that if the on-board electronics is modernized, it will last another 20 years. And it will be relevant.

The 25th was a chic “alcohol-bearer!” The 31st was already without a freebie. feel

He served in 1973-75. in Chuguevka in August the first 75 MiG-25 P (interceptor) was received, and he poured a ton of alcohol directly onto the concrete. There was “Damn” - Warrant Officer Chertkov begged for a flask with us, stuffed it into a jacket after flights and ran to MiG-25. He brought one to us and carried the second one to us. After me (demobilized in 75), and in 1976, Belenko drove the fall to Japan (bastard). As soon as I heard (familiar): RSBN short-range radar system, the MiG-25 was controlled through it (in fractions of a second) and other .... Midshipman understand!

As for the "not so elegant" - I do not agree! I never really liked the Su-27 / MiG-29. Some are awkward. MiG-25/31 in this sense look much nicer. Terrible beauty!
