American UAV spent hours of reconnaissance in the Donbass
A strategic unmanned aircraft of the US Air Force RQ-4A Global Hawk with the callsign UAVGH000 yesterday made a many hours reconnaissance flight along the line of demarcation in eastern Ukraine, reports Interfax-AVN Post by Western Military Tracking Sites aviation.
During the flight, the UAV traveled for several hours from north to south along the line of contact between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the units of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR).
The flight of the UAV took place at an altitude of 16,7 thousand meters above the territory controlled by Ukrainian troops. The dividing line did not intersect.
"Given the capabilities of conducting exploration to a depth of 300 km, the RQ-4A Global Hawk drone could observe the entire territory of the self-proclaimed republics, as well as the border regions of Russia," the report says.
The drone took off from Sigonella airbase in Sicily, entered the airspace of Ukraine over the Nikolaev region and headed towards Mariupol. At the end of the flight, the device left the airspace over Ukraine to the north of Moldova.
According to media reports, the RQ-4A Global Hawk can be in the air for about 30 hours, flying at an altitude of 15-18 thousand meters.
