Exercise in the Barents Sea is completed
According to the official representative of the Northern Fleet, Captain 1 of the rank of Vadim Sergi, during the weekly launch into the sea, the crews of anti-submarine ships successfully coped with the implementation of a complex of depth bombing and torpedo firing with practical use weapons. According to Sergi, this approach to the sea, where anti-submarine ships joined, became one of the main measures of combat training during the winter training period.
The captain of the 1 rank Vadim Serga also said that the naval search and attack group, consisting of large anti-submarine ships "Vice-Admiral Kulakov" and "Admiral Chabanenko", took part in the exercises. At sea, the crews of warships, interacting with the anti-submarine Il-38 and the Ka-27 helicopter, worked out the tasks associated with finding an atomic submarine of a conditional enemy and countering nuclear submarines using anti-submarine weapons. During the exercise, issues of joint maneuvering, organizing joint actions and communications between ships were also worked out. Shortly before returning to the base, the crews of the ships conducted joint exercises on air defense.
According to the official representative of the Federation Council, during the past exercises, the crew of the BOD Admiral Chabanenko managed to prepare for the Russian-Norwegian exercises Pomor-2012, which will be held in May of this year. The command of the Northern Fleet gave a good assessment of the work of the crews of the ships, saying that they conducted a high-quality working out of all the stages of complex exercises, which indicates their readiness for interaction as part of groups of heterogeneous forces.
