According to the Ukrainian portal Ukrainian Military Pages, today, on July 14, detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, under the procedural guidance of SAP prosecutors, detained a number of officials of the Supreme Court of Ukraine and the State Enterprise Lviv Armored Plant.

Officials arrested on suspicion of committing a crime under ch. 5 Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Assignment, waste of property or taking possession of it through abuse of official position").

During the pre-trial investigation at NABU, it was established that officials of the TSBTU APU in collusion with officials of the state enterprise Lviv Armored Plant, the founder of LLC and with the participation of firms with signs of fictitiousness, developed and implemented a corrupt scheme for the purchase of spare parts and accessories for armored weapons and technology, than in 2015, committed a waste of budget funds in the amount of 28,5 mln.

The essence of the scheme was that instead of new engines for tanks T-72 actually purchased engines that were previously used. In addition, these old, and sometimes non-working, engines were previously sold - in 2008-2009 they were sold to enterprises on the domestic market as excess property of the Ministry of Defense. In addition, the release of this engine model has stopped since the 1990s, which the circuit initiators were well aware of.

Now five people have been detained: the head of the Central Technical University of Ukraine Armed Forces Armed Forces (Major General), the Head of the Department of the Central Technological University of Armed Forces Arms of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Colonel), the Director and Deputy Director of the Lviv Armored Plant, also the founder of LLC involved in the scheme.
