The BTR-3 is a modern Ukrainian armored personnel carrier developed by the A. A. Morozov Kharkiv Machine Building Design Bureau. It is a deep modernization of the armored personnel carrier BTR-80.

It is intended for transportation of personnel of motorized rifle subunits and their fire support in battle. The BTR is used to equip units capable of conducting combat operations in various conditions, including in conditions of use by the enemy weapons mass destruction.

"Warrior know enemy equipment and weapons" - there was such a slogan back in Soviet times.

The site even judging by the name, considers military equipment as well. So your message to the moderators is unnecessary. As for me, so let there be more information about different equipment, different countries.

And I even saw him “alive”! When I visited my father (not in 15, not in 16). Fashion show in the center of Kiev was. So he stood there. Near the "damask".
Dual feelings aroused. It seems stuffed not bad, but more (higher) than the usual "80-ki". So more noticeable. But again, firepower also drove an order of magnitude higher. And then he rummaged in nete - who praises, who hait.

Yes, it was in the center of Kiev, in 2015. Only tanks on Mikhailovskaya Square - well, that wasn’t))
There were Dozor-B, BTR-3 and BTR-4. Bulat, there was no Bastion. Technique only without tracks.

All that can be discussed is the new combat module. The rest is the good old BTR-80 created almost 40 years ago.

You write nonsense. Even if you get it, you will understand that there are a lot of differences. Your phrase can be attributed to our BTR-80А \ BTR-82.

          good I completely agree.
Here is for the brow who does not know how to google the first comparison (without an application for all the differences from the BTR-8x):
          Regarding the differences between BTR-3E1 and BTR-80A / 82A:
Case height increased by 150 mm
          200 mm longer.
The upper case sheet with hatches of the driver and commander is made inclined.
Torsion shafts with stiffness increased by 30%.
Tires are made with inserts and have:
The largest possible radial load (2500kg vs 1870kg).
          Highest permissible top speed (120km / h versus 80km / h)
Better elasticity and contact load (1,8kg / cm2 versus 2,5kg / cm2) and better throughput
No restrictions on movement at maximum speed (for BTR-80A with KI-80N no more than 50 minutes at a speed of 80km / h).
The DEUTZ BF6M 1015 161 engine has a longer service life before replacement compared to Kamaz-ovsky, which is 60 km versus 000.
Fuel tanks are made in compartments isolated from MTO and crew.
But, the main advantage in the combat module "Storm".
The Sturm combat module, which is installed on the latest Ukrainian BTR-3s and is actively fighting in the Donbass, has undergone a radical modernization. Ukrainian gunsmiths from the Kiev armored plant changed the design of the module, collecting all the combat experience and the wishes of the fighters.
Based on the experience of the fighting, more than 700 changes were made. Moreover, they have already been tested according to the design documentation (for 2015).
"Storm" received the latest on-board computer and fire control panel, which fully meets all NATO standards.
The new development (the combat module upgraded for 2015) is a fire control system, which is now consolidated into a single unit with a universal interface. The combat combat system is integrated into it, including GPS navigation, and all the data that a soldier needs for accurate shooting is displayed on the screen. It is sustained in the standards of Ukraine and NATO.
Changes, in addition to the most important electronic stuffing, affected the general layout of the combat module. The location of the aiming systems has been changed, which are now much better protected. And also eliminated the possibility of shells getting into the joint between the hull and the tower, which threatened to jam the rotation mechanism of the combat module.
In the on-board computer "Sturm" you can download training scenarios that allow fighters not to lose their knack even during relative calm.
The military will not have to spend time retraining from one machine to another, all the software and management in all new armored personnel carriers is made the same.

For scruffies, google and compare what BTR-80 and BTR-3 have left from BTR-82 and you will see the truth. In addition to the new combat module, the Russian 82nd has at least new communications, reservations, and the engine is somehow more powerful. In addition, the Ukrainian troika, due to weight-and-weight imbalance, became significantly overloaded, maneuverability and speed were reduced (then the German road engines turned out to be!)

It can be added that the first batch of armored personnel carriers was intended for Thailand, was requisitioned and transferred to the National Guard of Ukraine.
            LIMITATIONS:
This is one of the drawbacks of the car: the upper hatches from the BTR-70/80 do not meet modern requirements - you cannot leave the car through it in full body kit (body armor, etc.).
The height and length of the hull were increased by 15 and 20 cm, respectively, which led to a significant increase in the BTR-3 reservation area, the slope of the hatches of the driver and commander was changed, and a new shoulder strap was welded. As a result, the car turned out to be heavy (16 tons), the load on the base chassis of the BTR-80 was sharply increased, which led to a decrease in cross-country ability and buoyancy.
The visibility on the battlefield has grown due to an increase in the height of the armored corps and a large combat module.

Another serious disadvantage is the poor accuracy of the shooting, which comes for the following reasons:
The use of low-component DC motors for drives of combat modules. Such engines, due to their high inertia, are neither able to hold the gun in a given sector, nor quickly and accurately retarget it, nor provide target tracking at high angular velocity.
The use of gearboxes (as opposed to direct drive) greatly increases the aiming error.
There is no reference to the horizon of optical and television channels of aiming (the design does not provide for the installation of a gyroscope), and the slightest roll leads to errors in ballistics.
The channel of sight of optical and television devices is not separated from the line of the barrel channel, which makes it difficult to adjust the range and type of projectile.
Problems in fulfilling the contract with Thailand, which arose due to Deutz's failure, were resolved at the KKBM by installing a turbocharged in-line six-cylinder diesel engine MTU 6R106TD21 with a capacity of 325 liters. with., aggregated with a six-speed automatic transmission Allison 3200SP.

ONE WORD in this armored troop is NOTHING OF ANYTHING DOMESTIC from the word at all.
