If the US attacks on the Syrian armed forces continue, the Syrian air defense, including C-300, will retaliate against American aircraft in Syria, said Vladimir Dzhabarov, first deputy chairman of the committee of the Federation Council for International Affairs.
Earlier, the headquarters of the US-led international coalition confirmed that a US military aircraft shot down a Syrian Su-22 south of the city of Tabka.
Sooner or later, the Syrian air defense will retaliate, they have C-300 at their disposal
He recalled that the incident was not the first in recent days, previously there were already raids and shelling by the US armed forces of the Syrian army. According to Dzhabarov, the current mechanism of interaction between the Syrian armed forces, the Russian VKS and the coalition forces in Syria is "absolutely unexplored."
It is necessary as soon as possible to the military to gather at the negotiating table and develop a new, effective mechanism to prevent such incidents.
- concluded the senator.
The coalition headquarters previously said that immediately after the attack of the Syrian forces, the coalition representatives contacted Russian partners by telephone through a channel to reduce the level of conflicts to de-escalate the situation.
