IL-76MD-M - a project to modernize the IL-76MD type aircraft developed by the Aviation Complex named after S.V. Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry and Ilyushin Aviation Complex OJSC signed a contract to modernize the first batch of Il-76MD military transport aircraft to the level of Il-76MD-M. According to the modernization project, a new flight-navigation complex was installed on the aircraft, lighting, airborne transport and domestic equipment, as well as defense and communications equipment were replaced. An opto-electronic sighting system is installed in the nose, which operates in both the infrared and optical modes. In the course of modernization, standardized with the promising military transport aircraft IL-76MD-90А and the tanker IL-78М-90А were used.
