Hillary Clinton believes that Russia supports Syria for commercial reasons, and China for commercial and ideological
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told reporters on Thursday in London that pressure on countries like China and Russia would increase, since international public opinion would not be indifferent.
Further, referring to Moscow and Beijing, H. Clinton added: “The opinion of the Arab world will not be content to contemplate how two nations, one for commercial reasons and the other for commercial and ideological, support the regime that has redeemed all the principles of modern international norms ".
Recall that earlier Russia and China vetoed the draft resolution of the UN Security Council on Syria, calling for Bashar al-Assad to resign - in order to transfer power to the opposition.
Russia and China voted against a similar resolution last year in October.
Clinton believes that the capacity of the opposition forces in Syria will grow. Quote: "They are from somewhere, somehow find ways to protect themselves, and also go to the offensive actions."
Clinton also stated with confidence that if she had to make a bet with someone, she would have bet against the current Syrian president.
Recall that the riots in Syria occur since March last year. Hundreds of people died, including many Syrian security forces. Responsibility for the unrest Damascus imposes on "criminal elements, saboteurs and armed terrorist groups." It is alleged that these groups are sent to Syria from abroad.
On the contrary, Western countries, as well as the Syrian opposition, have accused the current Syrian government of killing protesters.
Russia stated that the unrest in Syria must be resolved through negotiations between Damascus and the opposition. China announced that it maintains an objective attitude towards the situation in Syria and is making every effort to solve the problem through dialogue with stakeholders.
