"Otolaryngologist" Shoigu. The treatment is going according to plan.

29
A disease always begins suddenly. Most often external forces are to blame. All sorts of viruses, bacilli, microbes. The body can not cope with the attack of these reptiles. Disguised as "their". Get used to antibiotics. In short, the attack these microbes are preparing for a long time. Waiting for the appropriate situation. Colds there or another disease less dangerous.

Approximately the same with the state. Lives like normal, people are more or less happy. Prospects for young people there. There is a work. Have a family. Everything is. There is even freedom praised by the West. Who can go abroad to rest. And who can not, well, does not allow him a salary, he goes to domestic resorts and holiday homes. And these microbes are bouncing with impatience. The attack is prepared.

And then came the 1985. A year when microbes got power. The year that marked the beginning of the end of a great country. Gorbachev, perestroika, publicity, freedom of speech and press, democratic elections, economic reforms that should create a market in the country ... What a beautiful word. And what a video series on TV screens. I remember a butcher shop somewhere in Europe. Meat is more than 20 types ... And sausages ... And plastic bags with inscriptions ... And jeans ...

While we were enjoying the view of the shelves of western shops, the cunning guys from those who are in opposition today quickly took our hands. It was ours, it became for some reason private. And the people sat scratching the head. How did that happen? They sold my factory, for some money they sold, as they say, and I have a shish in my pocket?

Broke down the country quickly. But there was also an army. The same army, which was feared in NATO and in the United States. How was the destruction of our army, many readers have experienced the hard way. How hundreds were fired. How to steal technology hundreds of units. How the military camps gave for nothing. Much can be remembered. But today we will focus on one aspect.

The USSR possessed, probably, the best attack warning system. We had "eyes" in space. We had good “ears” on land. We had "research" ships that provided coverage of almost the entire planet with our "senses". We had everything ...

This system became the main object of Western interest. More precisely, the attack. The first brought as unnecessary space satellites. Why do we need these objects if everyone is just around the corner waiting for their turn to help us. Billionaires with bags of money are worth. And the US space industry is not like ours ... The West ... And everyone fell on their knees ... Our "eyes" were covered with dark glasses.

But there were still "ears". And these “ears” were called “Daryal”. More precisely, the network of stations, which provided control over almost the entire perimeter of the USSR. Radar "Daryal" in its characteristics is unique. Even modern stations by some parameters do not reach these "old men".

"Daryaly", by virtue of their tasks, were located in most cases outside the territory of Russia. And after the collapse of the Soviet Union turned out to be, respectively, in other states. We tried our best to keep the radar station. We paid a lot of money for rent. For example, the radar station in Latvia (Skrund) cost us 5 million dollars per year. Approximately the same cost and radar in the Ukrainian Transcarpathia.

In 1995, the Latvian radar station was blown up by the Americans ... Latvian independence ... Northern and Central Europe got rid of the Russian "ears." At the beginning of the 2000-s, the radar station in Western Ukraine was dismantled ... Southern Europe thus also “left” control. But each station was built more than one year. A decade for such construction was almost the norm.

The same fate awaited the radar station in Azerbaijan. Gabala "Daryal" provided control over the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian Ocean. This station was destroyed in 2012 year.

In addition to the "foreign" "Daryalov", there were a few of ours. In different stages of construction. But "the state has no money for this nonsense." The unfinished has been abandoned or dismantled. As it happened with "Darial" in Yeniseisk. The station was ready on 90%.

Now the most impressionable readers snort. 2012 ... So who was in power at that time? Gorbachev, Yeltsin? Not. And then who is to blame for the fact that Russia received by the "ears"? Right, by the way, snort. But ... wrong. By the beginning of 2000's country, I remind you, the new Russians and their western friends have greatly devastated. To afford such costs for the construction of the radar, we could not.

And it was here that the Russian character manifested itself. More precisely, the nature of Russian scientists. By this time, the project "Voronezh" had already been developed and successfully began to be implemented. Just for comparison. The construction of the Dnepr radar (in 2005 prices of the year) cost us 5 billion rubles. Daryal radar - 20 billion rubles. Radar "Voronezh" - 1,5 billion rubles. At the same time, as I wrote above, radars are comparable. But for energy "Voronezh" just "starving." Total 0,7 MW. For comparison: “Dnepr” - 2MW, “Daryal” (Azerbaijan) - 50MW.

Radar "Voronezh" refers to the stations of high factory readiness (VZG). That is why the construction of these stations does not require so much time. A year or two, and the station is ready to work. So, another link in the missile attack warning system (EWS) is included in the chain of our "ears."

Most recently, the Russian Defense Minister inspected the work of the Voronezh DM radar in Yeniseisk. So far, the station has worked perfectly in combat test mode. With specially created, the most sophisticated conditions of the radar environment, the station discovered all the targets! A "opponent" tried to glory. "Hit" all that in general can "fly" in our direction.

What does this mean in terms of our country's defense? Why is the opening of another radar important? Maybe you should not pay so much attention to this event?

Archive event! For the first time, Russia will be completely covered by the radar! Completely! Voronezh in the Kaliningrad region (Pionerskoye) completely replaced the lost Western Ukrainian Daryal. Now this station controls all of Europe and even part of the North Atlantic water area. That for the Western admirals was a big headache. After all, it is there that NATO submarines are “hidden”.

There is also Armavir "Voronezh". Mediterranean, northern Africa, southern Europe. And the second direction instead of the Gabala radar "Daryal" ...

For our "friends" in the east follows another radar. In the Irkutsk region (Michelevka). Here both Korea, and the American missile defense system THAAD, and Japan ... So Kim Jong-Eun is constantly under our control. A "helps" the Irkutsk radar also "Voronezh" in Barnaul.

Northern Europe, the Norwegian Sea, the North Atlantic and, again, Europe is controlled by Voronezh in the border with Finland Lehtusi (Leningrad Oblast). As local officers joke: "We know everything that is happening from Morocco to Spitsbergen."

Lost (almost completely burned in 2004 year) "Daryal" in Kazakhstan successfully replaced the radar "Voronezh" in Orsk. Now not only the western regions of China, but the region up to Iran in the area of responsibility of this particular station.

True, we have not yet abandoned Darialov. But so far. Daryal in Pechora controls the Arctic. But next year Vorkuta Voronezh will assume its functions. And then Voronezh in Olenegorsk.

If you look closely at the map, a natural question arises. And what will the Yenisei Radar Station cover? If we control everything, then? Alas, but “defending” against real threats, which everyone can see, we must not forget about those moments that are not visible to the average person.

In addition to the main territory of the United States, there is also Alaska. The area, which for some reason everyone forgets. But there are ballistic missile launch sites there. And they are aimed at us. And the “road” of these missiles lies to us through the northern seas. In particular, the Laptev Sea and the East Siberian Sea. Here, by the end of this year, this road will be blocked by the radar station in Yeniseisk (Ust-Kem).

On the whole, the Voronezh family is not just the “ears” of our SPRN. Radars of this class, as well as submarines, aircraft, Tanks and other military equipment, are an indicator of the development of military technology. An indicator of the development of engineering and design in our country. An indicator of the strength of the army.

By the way, the plans of the Ministry of Defense have another surprise. It is planned to build another Voronezh. This time in the Amur region (Zeya). But these "ears" will already directly "listen" to Americans. The Pacific Ocean and the USA ... The range in 6000 km allows a lot ...

In principle, “otolaryngologist” Shoigu quite competently carries out “treatment”. And in the case of the Amur Radar performs the main principle of medicine. The main thing - to warn the disease! I think Voronezh in Zeya is such a warning ...

Well, how did the Americans not "dodavili" us in 90's? What did they lack? In the balance, everything hung. The army simply "collapsed", lost one position after another ... One First Chechen one was worth something.
No, well on ... Enough already retreat.
Well, and, as usual, the asymmetric answer. Instead of the expensive “Daryalov”, consuming Niagara electricity, long-range “Voronezh”, and even prefabricated. Once - and the ears opened. Probably, there are already eyes - but not all the same it is worth to advertise ...

        Everything hung in the balance

Yes, they have passed along the edge.
I generally had a strange life. A son was born, money appeared, a car, began to drive over a hill (tolerance expired), anywhere in the country in general (thanks to connections with geophysicists). It would seem to live and rejoice, and every next year the feeling of life is getting worse and worse. Therefore, probably, “dear Russians I’m leaving”, it remained in my memory as one of the happiest events in my life.

Fairly good review, but there are roughnesses. In the "historical part" of the review

But there were still "ears". And these “ears” were called “Daryal”. More precisely, the network of stations, which provided control over almost the entire perimeter of the USSR. Radar "Daryal" in its characteristics is unique. Even modern stations by some parameters do not reach these "old men".

    Which do not reach? Voronezh?

"Daryaly", by virtue of their tasks, were located in most cases outside the territory of Russia. And after the collapse of the Soviet Union turned out to be, respectively, in other states. We tried our best to keep the radar station. We paid a lot of money for rent. For example, the radar station in Latvia (Skrund) cost us 5 million dollars per year. Approximately the same cost and radar in the Ukrainian Transcarpathia.

So to speak. At that time, the construction of Daryal stations outside the RSFSR had just begun. But no one predicted that the collapse of the USSR would occur. In fact, only ONE station type "Daryal" was brought to full operation. This station is in Gabala. By and large, no network from Daryal stations existed.
In the north, in the Pechora region, the reception center "Daugava" was erected, which then began to be used in "Daryal". The station in Irkutsk there was not brought to the state tests. The same thing from the station in Sary Lake. Krasnoyarsk was built in violation of the terms of the ABM contract and we were forced to dismantle it, spending a lot of money on the construction. The station in Skrund was not built. Only the receiving position was built, and the station in Mukachevo was not completed at all (neither the receiving, nor the transmitting parts). After the collapse of the Union, we paid the arena for the radar in Mukachevo and Skrund, but not for the “idle” Daryal stations. We planned a rental due to the fact that there were also Dnepr-M stations in these places

Slightly incorrectly written. A station in Gabala did not expect such a fate. She fully worked until 2012. And after the stations were built in Armavir, the need for the Gabala radar station basically disappeared. Firstly, due to the fact that Azerbaijan, receiving initially 1 million dollars, increased the rent first to 7, and then demanded a total of 30 million dollars.
Secondly, the station was NOT ABLE to process information on site and transmitted all the information for processing to the Shalash facility near Moscow

In addition to the "foreign" "Daryalov", there were a few of ours. In different stages of construction. But "the state has no money for this nonsense." The unfinished has been abandoned or dismantled. As it happened with "Darial" in Yeniseisk. The station was ready on 90%.

Yes, there were several under construction. Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk. Irkutsk was dismantled at the beginning of this decade, and not having taken up combat duty, we were forced to dismantle the Krasnoyarsk because it was built in violation of the provisions of the contract. They thought that it’s a ride and we will be able to hang the noodles on the ears of the Americans, but no. They did smart. They gave the USSR good money and when the station was almost ready they protested and demanded dismantling. What we did

True, we have not yet abandoned Darialov. But so far. Daryal in Pechora controls the Arctic. But next year Vorkuta Voronezh will assume its functions. And then Voronezh in Olenegorsk.

Well, this phrase is not true at all. Currently, not a single Daryal-type station is operated in the SPRN. In Pechora there is no Daryal radar. There is a reception position "Daugava" in addition to the station "Dnepr-M"

Quote: For the Motherland, your mother))
He looked at the map; and if you put "Voronezh" in Transnistria - it seems that it’s possible not only that of Europe, the eastern coast of the USA can be seen))).

Not tired of stepping on the same rake and putting stations outside of Russia? Is there little experience with the Gabala, Sary-Shagan, Skrunden and Mukachevo radars? In addition, the station "will not finish" to the east coast of the United States

    Quote: inkass_98
One station is clearly not enough, there is a hole on the border with the Ruin, there is also a piece of Turkey, and you can expect everything from Old Man Luke. In the area of Voronezh or Belgorod, it is just necessary to set up a station.

There are no "holes" (more on this below). I don’t know if it makes sense to put the SRPN station almost “at every kilometer”. But in principle, there is another station that we are not yet building. This is the Vitim station, It looks like a Voronezh-DM station, but the number of storeys is less. It is also planned to build stations of the centimeter range (Voronezh-SM), but where they will not be known yet.

Thanks to the author of the article for the scheme .. This is the first scheme of the radar SPRN more or less reflecting reality. Before that, there were always old schemes of the times of the USSR. But the author there has a number of inaccuracies

Firstly, it is not entirely accurate.
    1. The Dnipro station in Sary-Shagan, which we operate, is not shown
2 .. The Volga station in Belarus is not shown
    3. The Dnipro station in the Crimea, which is currently undergoing modernization, is not indicated
    4. The station "Dnieper" is not shown with the reception position "Daugava" in Pechora.
    5. Judging by the sector, only one Voronezh-DM station is depicted in Armavir, and there are TWO of them. The sector is much larger and the second just plugs this same “hole”

In-2. Of course, this scheme could be represented as a scheme of Voronezh stations, but then the designation of two sectors in Olenegorsk is not clear? Dnipro is standing there now and I don’t remember something that Voronezh was planning there. And if there are stations in the Murmansk region, why are there no stations about which I wrote above?

In principle, the article A PLUS

You're right. I apologize for some inaccuracies in the article.
    1. The station in Kazakhstan was not in Sary-Ozek, but in Sary-Shagan. I wrote Sary-Ozek in one place and Sary-Shagan in another.
    2. You are absolutely right with the Pechora radar. That's my fault. There really is “Daryal”, and in Olenegorsk “Dnepr” with “Daugava”
But at the same time, many of the wording correspond to reality. The network as such of the Daryal stations in the USSR
did not have. The Gabala and Pechora radars were in service. The rest did not reach the stage of placing on the database

Why in Anadyr? If you put it there, in which direction to deploy? In the direction of the United States - it is possible of course, but the station in Yeniseisk overlaps its north and north-east direction with its viewing sector. And here is the station in Anadyr - the hole will be in this direction. In addition, weather conditions in Chukotka are far from the best. Question, but is it necessary?
As for international treaties, there isn’t anymore. Previously, there was a missile defense agreement in which there was a provision that new stations could only be built along the perimeter of the Union with outward orientation. Because of this, we had to destroy the Krasnoyarsk radar, because she did not comply with this provision. Now there is no such situation and we built one of the new stations in Yeniseisk

Hard to tell. the first generation - F-117 meter range stations were fixed. But as for the F-22 and F-35 - to be honest I don’t know. Logically, too, they should, but as in real life - HZ. V-1 - it doesn’t belong to machines made using stealth technology. You must have mixed up with B-2. In principle, all of these stations are focused on tracking missile launches. A plane can be detected if it falls into the survey sector. And at stations of the Voronezh type, vertically, it is from 2 to 60 degrees EMNIP
