Yesterday Syria held a referendum on a new constitution

Yesterday Syria held a referendum on a new constitutionOn Sunday, Syria hosted a referendum on the adoption of the draft constitution. This was reported by RIA "News"(With reference to the Syrian Ministry of Information). According to preliminary information, the turnout was 60 percent.

The main difference between the adopted constitution and the current one is the change in the article, which earlier established the predominant role of the ruling Ba'ath party. From now on, the political parties of Syria are guaranteed equal opportunities.

The first official counting data will be published today. It should be noted that for the first time in decades the counting of votes is controlled by the judicial authorities, and not by representatives of the ruling party.

Interestingly, the Minister of Information Adnan Mahmoud announced in advance that the Syrians voted for democracy, pluralism, social justice and the preservation of the most important gains. He believes that the new constitutional draft is only one of the links in the reform program that started a few months ago. Mahmoud added: "Today, the Syrians are voting for the country in which they will live in peace and harmony for the next years under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad."

The opposition earlier called the referendum a “political game” and called for its boycott. The United States considered the plebiscite “a meaningless step,” and the head of the German Foreign Ministry, Guido Westerwelle, said that “a falsified vote cannot contribute to a way out of the crisis,” and called on Bashar Al-Assad to begin the transfer of power (RBC information).

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in turn, appealed to residents of major Syrian cities, military and businessmen to overthrow Bashar al-Assad. Clinton said: “The longer you support the regime and its campaigns of violence against your brothers and sisters, the more you score your honor. Support your fellow citizens, countrymen and women - and you will be welcomed as heroes! ”However, the state secretary stressed that an operation like the Libyan one in Syria cannot be done: foreign military intervention will only inflate the flames of civil war.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia believes that the referendum is "evidence that, despite the difficult security situation, the Syrian leadership fulfills the promises made to the people to implement profound political and socio-economic transformations."

According to official information, the referendum was relatively calm. But in Homs and other cities, clashes between the armed opposition and the army and police continue. As human rights activists point out, more than 100 people died last Friday.

Right on target.. An independent and quite adequate country.. But I'm more interested in the hysteria of the USA in the person of Clinton... Real hysteria... How... the most democratic democrats got their faces punched... America is increasingly sliding into the primitive policy of barking from around the corner.. A kind of Pug... Only the size of the Elephant somehow doesn't correspond to the Pug... lol

With this "outrageous behavior" Syria is showing the whole world the impotence of the entire anti-Syrian bloc! The U.S. and its lackeys can only howl at the moon... It's the same story with Iran! Look, guys, at this interesting material that testifies to this impotence! ---------- Western, independent and free media seem to be at a loss for letters in the alphabet to describe their indignation at the actions of undemocratic, clerical, ungovernable and unpredictable Iran. I just want to add here: "And their prime minister is a redhead!" Of course, they will object that this is not true and that he is not a redhead, but then of course I would throw in: Why is everyone lying about Iran, but I am not allowed to? In the end, my lie would be less harmful to the world.

Seriously speaking, the West really exhausted its arguments. The dead results of the conference of “friends of Syria” weigh nothing against the referendum on the new constitution, successfully held by Assad. Without Syria, Iran cannot be reached. The headless policy of the State Department, which seemed to us that the United States was able to change power in several countries at once, almost in bulk, led to this state of affairs. Anyone who resists this, of course, adversary, and his own orders, even his own military should not follow.

Assad is actually convicted. You don’t remember Ivan Dmitritch from Chekhov’s Chamber No. 6: “Isn’t it funny to think of justice when all violence is met by society as a rational and expedient necessity, and any act of mercy, for example, an acquittal, causes a whole explosion of unsatisfied, vengeful feelings?” Nevertheless, it’s precisely the position of Russia that does not allow Assad to be declared a criminal, Ms Clinton’s statements do not surprise anyone or convince anyone. There is no and never will be a resolution on Syria.

Speaking about Iran itself, it should be noted that Iran, although strong, would again not have survived without Russia. Not only the veto in the UN Security Council does not allow the West to get rid of Iran, but the proximity to the borders of Russia makes it very delicate. Otherwise, within 10 minutes you can lose the entire fleet of aircraft that arrived to bomb "just in case", because there is no evidence of a military nuclear program, which means there is no reason for the bombing.

Western journalists insist on some mythical capabilities of Israel to bomb all of Iran’s nuclear facilities. With this physiognomy, they are very acidic. In the plot below you can see for yourself. Fox News columnist KT McFarland looks like a smiling snake biting through a sour lemon. That is, instead of injecting their poison into the wound, I received a shock dose of lemon juice from there.

The conclusion of this female observer is magnificent: "Israel can bomb Iran, but with uncertainty about success." Have you heard this somewhere else? Because of this quote alone, Ahmadinejad must jump with happiness, for this is a direct message to Iran: “We can do nothing with you!”

There is really something else. Because of complete helplessness, someone found a seemingly successful formula to tarnish Iran. Now Iran is called a threat to Catholicism. It is clear that this topic has surfaced now for a reason. There is a great desire to unite Christian countries in the fight against Muslim Iran, clearly hinting at religious differences between predominantly Christian Russia and Muslim Iran. The resolution adopted on religious antagonism will of course immediately be baptized as “To bomb for God's sake.”

Units of the Syrian army captured ten French troops among which there are officers and soldiers. The French were captured in the area of Baba Amr in Homs, among them there is one with the rank of army colonel, according to Syrian media.
French news agencies present this event as follows. During the fighting in Homs, parts of the Syrian army were surrounded by about one and a half thousand armed militants. When some of them were detained, the French commandos introduced themselves to the Syrian officers and asked to be considered prisoners of war.
The French military refused to disclose their unit number and the nature of their mission in Syria. According to Syrian media, French intelligence supplies armed rebels with weapons and satellite communications.
In this story, the behavior of captured French soldiers who asked to consider themselves prisoners of war is interesting. It is worth noting that Syria and France are not warring parties, and captured French citizens with arms in their hands on the territory of Syria can in no way fall within the scope of the Hague Convention on Prisoners of War. They are ordinary mercenaries who are illegally in Syria.
In addition, a captured soldier is obliged to state the number of his unit and the nature of his mission, the only way to determine whether he falls under prisoner of war status or not.
In any case, the detention of the French military in Syria and their statement to consider them prisoners of war suggests that France is already in an open war against Syria and the number of prisoners does not play a role! If this is not so, then official Paris should be grateful if the Syrian military will destroy several criminal elements with French passports.

Annoying information about the turnout - 60%. Not enough for such a situation. I think it's worth waiting for more detailed news.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia believes that the referendum is "evidence that, despite the difficult security situation, the Syrian leadership fulfills the promises made to the people to implement profound political and socio-economic transformations."

The main thing is not to overdo it and not get involved in democracies. Even the Russian Foreign Ministry acknowledges this.

Everything is going according to the planned strategy. Keep it up. The fact that "the most democratic of the democratic" will consider the referendum of the Syrian people a rigging is further proof of "where the wind blows from". Our "conservationists" have also already declared the elections rigged and are planning a rally for March 5. The same template, both Syria and us. But pasaran! With respect.
