Russian Aerospace Forces radio-technical troops are designed to conduct radar reconnaissance of an air adversary and to provide radar information about the air situation to the airborne control bodies, other types and arms of the RF Armed Forces, at military equipment control points aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces and electronic warfare in solving their tasks of peace and war. RTV VKS of Russia are armed with radio equipment and complexes of automation equipment.

The main directions of the development of the troops are the improvement of the technical equipment of military units and subdivisions through the implementation of measures to extend the resource and modernize the existing equipment and weapons, to develop weapons for the new park: medium-range and high-altitude radar systems "Nebo-M", medium and large radar Heights "Opponent-G1M", "Sopka-2", low-altitude radar "Podlet-K1" and "Podlet-M", low-altitude radar "Caste-2-2".

The station also included a radar interrogator of a friend or foe system with its antenna. To obtain the third coordinate (target height), the station could pair with a radio altimeter. Currently, the stations are in operation.

    "Sky-IED" 1Л119 - a three-coordinate station, the development of "Sky-NE". Fighter target detection range: at an altitude of 20 km - up to 380 km; at an altitude of 500 m - up to 65 km. Deployment / minimization time: no more than 30 minutes.

      Talk about creating a 3-band radar has been going on for 10 years. At least NII-2 has long developed TK and NNIIRT even made some kind of OCD. But unfortunately, the generals prefer to allocate money for new weapons, and intelligence. as always, funded on a residual basis. Even such unique systems as Sky-VCA and Sky-M are developed on an initiative basis.

Nizhny Novgorod NIIRT specialized in meter stations. But Muscovites from VNIIRT tried to unify multi-range development of the Gamma radar line.
