There is a hunt for people or a friend or foe identification system

2 May 2011 by DEVGRU (SEAL Team Six) destroyed Osama bin Laden.
Total 38 minutes took the active phase of the operation "Spear of Neptune."
The reliability of this event (the destruction of Terrorist No. XXUMX) can be left outside the scope of this article, although there are some facts:
1) from 2001 to 2010 the year of bin Laden's death was reported 6 times or more ...
2) of 23 special forces DEVGRU, directly involved in the operation, 22 died simultaneously 6 August 2011 of the year in Afghanistan. The official version is "the helicopter was shot down by a rocket."

It's not about the operation, but about what contributed to it. Before you destroy a target, you must:
- to identify it (a set of characteristic strictly individual features that allow one to unambiguously “identify” the target among other similar objects)
-determine geographical location, localization.
-select the target from a group of other objects (crowd, family, servants) that cannot be destroyed.
- to carry out tracking of the target until the moment of striking (destruction).

These tasks are formulated in the secret program of the Pentagon called "Tags, tracking and search" or TTL.
In the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, the problems of identifying their own soldiers, who risk falling under the fire of “their own” and observing and tracking a potential enemy, became acute.

The first contract was signed by the DoD with Blackbird Technologies.

Simplest technology - The technology of infrared beacons, which is used by both soldiers and secret agents. The lighthouse is a programmable infrared lamp operating in pulsed or continuous mode and a power source. The light emitted by such a beacon is not visible to the naked eye, but is clearly visible in the night vision device (NVD) or thermal imager:

There is a hunt for people or a system of identification "friend or foe"

Disadvantages: An adversary or a party interested in concealment can easily imitate IR tags to introduce search engines or identification systems into a “fallacy” due to the easy availability of such equipment (Al-Qaeda’s instructions from 2009, dedicated to the tactics of local spy on the USA).

Similar IR beacons are used in the US Army to enable helicopter pilots and UAV operators to distinguish them from enemy fighters. Today, IR tags are already obsolete.

It is assumed that field agents received special mobile phones equipped with an integrated IR laser. In the dusty air, a laser beam from a large distance is visible in a night vision device or a thermal imager, which allows the agent to point at the target without approaching it. In addition, such a "laser phone" can real-time target designation for Hellfire missiles, which potentially reduces the likelihood of collateral damage.

Second generation technology - quantum dot on the map.

Voxtel introduced the NightMarks product. It is a clear liquid consisting of tiny nanocrystalline quantum dots based on cadmium selenide. The material is able to absorb UV (200-400 nm) or IR (700-1600 nm) radiation, and then efficiently transfer energy to special nanocrystalline phosphors that glow in the visible (400-700 nm) and in the near IR region of the spectrum .

It is enough to apply such liquid on clothing or human skin (by a simple handshake, using a UAV, or other means), and a UAV scout can reliably track a bright mark from a long distance.

By changing the optical properties of quantum dots, you can create spectral barcodes, which allows you to track and reliably identify many objects.

Tiax is working on similar labels that can decompose over time, which reduces the likelihood of confusion and the likelihood of detection.

RFID chip technology ("stolen" in the store).

The principle of labeling goods in stores, in warehouses (range - a few hundred meters).

Until recently, it was used mainly to identify its forces on the battlefield and during movements.

Sandia National Laboratories has developed special RFID tags that can respond to a radar pulse and determine the location of an object with high accuracy. RFID tags from Sandia have a radius of up to 20 km.

A feature of the technology is the high secrecy - the tags "respond" only after irradiation with a special radar pulse.

Miniature RFID tags can work with compact radars like the M600 SpotterRF, which use X-band radio waves (pedestrian detection range is up to 1 km, and motor transport - up to 1,5 km). The radar is equipped with a GPS sensor and is integrated with the Google Earth service, which allows you to track the location of the object on an interactive map.

Third generation technology: biomarkers and volatile aromatic substances (LAV).

2007 has information on using it as a surveillance technology. biomarkers - biological substances that allow you to reliably identify a person.

No details, but it is likely that the marker is a protein in which a specific identifier code is encrypted. On the human body, such a label looks like a normal bruise, you can take off all your clothes, carefully wash and shave all your hair, but a small inconspicuous biometric can identify the object in any case. The tactics of using biomarkers remains a mystery, especially with regard to the reading of information and the introduction of biomarkers. In theory, a biomarker can remain in a person for life, which allows you to quickly identify a terrorist who pretends to be another person.

LAV technology from the company Tracer Detection Technology involves the use of unique smells that allow you to accurately distinguish the desired object from the crowd. Specialists of the company have invented a special paraffin pencil, filled with perfluorocarbons, thermally stable compounds, the pairs of which can be monitored using various sensors, for example, a gas chromatograph.

It is enough to hold a pencil on the object of surveillance, and it will emanate a specific scent that is invisible to the human nose for several hours.

At the same time, isolation in a tightly locked room or under a dozen odezhke does not help - according to a study presented in the US Department of Justice, PFC markers penetrate through closed windows, containers and locked suitcases.

The residual traces of the marker are preserved even after thorough rinsing.

The disadvantage of all the above technologies: it requires direct or close contact with the object for its labeling.

The technology of the third generation - a remote system for identifying an object on the face of a person.

Photon-X will use the full potential of modern high-resolution cameras and algorithms for constructing three-dimensional models of a human face. Any available optical recordings are used (tele-interviews, surveillance cameras), IR (security sensors), X-ray photographs (healthcare).

From just a few frames, the new device will be able to create a unique model of the face, while using the analysis of the movement of the facial muscles, a detailed profile of the human head is created, which increases the reliability of identification and allows you to entrust it work.

The new system will not only allow you to keep an eye on people, but also, for example, will help an autonomous robot identify the person you are looking for in the turmoil of battle, during a rally or during a search of a building.

On UAV detection, it is likely that BUG EYE cameras from the BAE System will be used.

Probably, elements of such technologies were used in the operation “Spear of Neptune”.

The newest stealth drone RQ-170 Sentinel was spotted at 2010-2011 at the airfield of Kandahar and caused bewilderment of experts: is it possible to fight the Taliban, who does not have air defense?

Perhaps the RQ-170 was used by the United States for secretly monitoring the territory of Pakistan, which has an air defense system and a large fleet of fighters.
Thanks to the invisible RQ-170 for Pakistani radars, a bin Laden courier was found, occasionally visiting him on an expensive car, and then bin Ladan himself was identified and destroyed.

Everything is as usual with us, as always, without any IR tags, infrared beacons and quantum dots, they simply anoint a person with something radioactive and then run with dosimeters, but sometimes incidents happen and a person dies from radiation.

        Igor,

anoint a person with something radioactive

Well, yes, as I wrote above: radioactive polonium, Litvinenko ....
probably they immediately wanted Berezovsky, but he wasn’t around, they decided what good was to disappear ...

To identify people, I don’t know, this is the competence of *** the Russian Federation.
I know that (until not so long ago) sources of radioactive isotopes were used to search for rocket stages (it was necessary to collect them as shells from a secret infantry). The entire steppe of Kazakhstan and part of Altai are polluted.
Although ... judging by the history of radioactive polonium, London, Berezovsky and Litvinenko may have gone "their own" asymmetric "cheaper way.
      ...
It is sometimes difficult to calculate the dose correctly.

“Today IR-tags are already morally outdated.” And unfortunately they have not reached us yet. They knit all the rags on the sleeves. It's sad.

Identification? What if smart pieces of iron confuse something? Most likely not so, they mix up and screw up. Sorry program crash

Well, this often happened with the Americans. Take the case of the shooting of journalists in Iraq on July 12, 2007. The video titled "Collateral Murder" is hosted on YouTube and is available on the WikiLeaks home page.
