According to the blog bmpdthe first two multipurpose Su-30CM fighter June 3 arrived in the 14th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment of the 105th mixed aviation divisions of the 6th Leningrad Red Banner Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Western Military District at the Halino airfield (Kursk). Thus began the rearmament of the regiment with the "Algerian" fighters now in its arsenal MiG-29SMT on new planes.

Previously, two Su-30SMs were transferred to the Naval Aviation of the Russian Navy and became part of the 72nd Baltic Aviation Base fleet at the airport Chernyakhovsk, located in the Kaliningrad region.

In total, with the 2012 of the year, the military department ordered the 116 Su-30CM, of which 88 are intended for the Air Force and 28 for the naval aviation. To date, the Air Force has received 68 Su-30CM fighters (including two extreme ones), Naval aviation - 17 (including 7 in 2016 and 2 in 2017).

As stated in the press service of the ZVO, the fleet of the military unit will undergo a complete rearmament before the end of the year. In total, the regiment will also include 6 batches of Su-30CM fighters, that is, 12 vehicles. It is possible that the MiG-14CMT fighters, having a small age, released as a result of the rearmament of the 29 regiment, will go to recruit any new aviation regiment. It is possible that they will be transferred to airbase in Erebuni (Armenia)

According to the bmpd blog, the first two Su-30SM multi-role fighters arrived on June 3 in the 14th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment of the 105th Combined Aviation Division of the 6th Leningrad Red Banner Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Western Military District at Halino airfield (Kursk).

        Great! good

Thus, the rearmament of the regiment began with the "Algerian" MiG-29SMT fighters now in its arsenal on new aircraft.

And this is not very pleasing ... It was never right to replace light fighters with heavy fighters. It is good if Drying is a supplement, not a replacement. In my opinion, only the MiG-35 can and should replace the MiG-29SMT.

          Rather, it raises questions.

It’s just interesting what territory is assigned to the defense of this regiment, can thus strengthen the Ukrainian direction.

Given the state of affairs with light fighters, writing off practically new SMTs is very wasteful. Considering that we also have 9-13 in service, and as you know, the reserve does not pull the pocket.

I have a feeling that if the talks about the merger of Su and MiG get to the point, then the chances of a worthy replacement of the modern fleet of light fighters will be even less ... Sukhoi already has a considerable monopoly on the Russian market, and thus MiG can generally supplant it. ..

What is annoying here is that it is the Kursk Regiment that is rearranging on Su-30, and not, say, a regiment that flies on something ancient. Well, they would say that the SMT did not go in the army, and it would be better to transfer to the MiG-35, but this was the new contract for the SMT relatively recently. Form a new regiment and arm them with a used SMT? Isn’t it easier to immediately form a regiment on Su-30 ??? Or in this way they will rotate what is in Armenia?

Su-35s also enter the army. Current 35th is done at another factory. What do you want the plant in Irkutsk to stop stamping the 30th?

Most likely, there will be a mixed regiment in Halino, judging by the article: 2 Drying now and 12 more during the year-total squadron, one more will probably remain on SMTs, and some will be transferred somewhere to the thread in Astrakhan, or indeed they will be relocated to Armenia for reinforcement, Now many IAPs are of various types in service.
