Ukrainian portal Kharkiv Today reports that the Malyshev plant was repaired for APU 50 tanks "Damask steel". The chief engineer of the plant, Alexander Sheiko, said that in total, from the winter of 2014, 64 Bulat tanks arrived at the enterprise for repair. Accordingly, at present, there are 14 Bulatov at the plant that have not yet been repaired.
Sheiko notes that while the repaired tanks are not transferred to the APU. The transfer will be made before the end of the year. Apparently, the everyday transmission of equipment after repair will be attempted to be turned into another public relations campaign for President Poroshenko, after painting the tanks for visual effect.
The plant notes that the repair and modernization of the available tanks (T-64, T-80), as the authorities told them, “is more expedient than building new“ Plots ”. But there were also pencil sketches of “Tirex” from one of the natsbats. On the construction of this armored vehicle at the moment - silence.
For reference: T-64BM "Bulat" - the main battle tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is the modernization of the Soviet T-64 tanks, to which at one time more than two dozen Ukrainian enterprises made efforts. Modernization is carried out with 2005 year.
