China-defense.com discusses a possible concept with a link to an internal Chinese source tank new generation.
The rear of the tank contains a self-propelled combat robot equipped with surveillance equipment and rockets (probably anti-tank). To the credit of those discussing it, they admit that such a concept is “too fantastic”, but who knows…
The tank's layout with the engine and transmission compartment located in the front part of the hull frees up space for the combat robot, which can hit targets both while inside the "mother tank" and "crawling out" of the carrier. In the latter case, the robot, among other tasks, can be used for tactical reconnaissance on the battlefield, as well as for combat operations in urban conditions. Such a system can significantly increase the tank's effectiveness when it operates autonomously.
In the future, the tank-robot system may have a development, given the revolutionary progress in the development of remotely controlled systems, whether it be unmanned aerial vehicles or self-propelled combat modules. Naturally, the success of such a concept is directly related to the development of technologies in various fields.
