Russian sappers will share Syrian experience with the armies of other countries.
It is noted that the International Defense Center of the Ministry of Defense, established in 2014, actively cooperates with the Geneva Center for Humanitarian Demining and with similar countries in Bosnia, Nicaragua, England, Spain and more than 30 countries.
“The basic course of humanitarian demining and working with improvised explosive devices is designed for 360 hours, or three months of continuous training. After that, the cadets study in depth the chosen specialization - conducting engineering intelligence, working with mine-explosive devices and demining equipment, or master the skills of working as part of international inspections. The center also trains mine bomb disposal specialists using mobile robotics, ”the article says.
According to Vadim Kozyulin, a professor at the Academy of Military Sciences, the Russian Federation “actively cooperates with the United Nations in the field of humanitarian demining, since the Russian military has a very serious experience of cleaning the area in the Chechen Republic and Ingushetia. Thanks to them, more than 7 thousand hectares of land was returned to agricultural use. ”
According to the Ministry of Defense, only from March 8 to April 20 this year, “the specialists of the International Mine Center cleared 1,5 thousand hectares, 140 km of roads, about 2 thousand buildings and structures in historical parts of Palmyra. " 6,6 thousand explosive objects were neutralized, including 630 improvised explosive devices.
