In the Vladimir region tested new pontoon-bridge park
In Murom (Vladimir region) tests of the new pontoon-bridge park PMP-2005М for the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have been carried out, reports Department Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation
The servicemen of the pontoon reconnaissance battalion of a separate pontoon-bridge brigade of engineering troops (central subordination) for one hour sent a crossing over the Oka River, the width of which reached 250 m.
After building a bridge in conditions close to combat, heavy equipment of engineering and motorized rifle troops crossed from one side of the Oka to another.
More than 100 military personnel took part in the tests, about 30 units of weapons and military equipment were involved.
The PMP-2005M pontoon-bridge park entered the connection at the end of the 2016 of the year and was not yet used in summer conditions. It is the latest achievement in the world pontoon bridge construction (42 of a car with river, coastal links and boats based on KAMAZ-63501).
During the tests, the military also tested a new suit for pontooners - a windproof kit insulated. The suit has improved characteristics in comparison with the existing suit - improved functionality, increased strength, reduced weight.
The safety vest with armored protection "Corsar-MP" from the set of the pontoon suit set is intended for use by military personnel as a special means to maintain on the surface of the water at the expense of elements having positive buoyancy and to provide protection against small weapons and splinters.
