As Zhukov G.K .: "I and the sergeants command the army!" I would like to believe that these words are right here, and they prepared them conscientiously. The training of sergeants, which I saw a couple of years ago, cannot be called not only professional, but in general it cannot be called anything, just for the sake of form, for show, they were taught to say. I will keep silent about the type of troops, but this is not the Airborne Forces.

To admit, I didn’t even know that sergeants are now being trained at higher educational institutions at special faculties. Very correct decision! Good luck, graduates! Success and luck in any endeavors! I hope that such a practice will be reflected in all military branches!

We are all delighted with the first graduation of sergeants, who studied for almost 3 years. I would like to believe that most of them will serve well over the 10 years required to obtain housing. Previously, officers were released in 3 years. And they had a good career path. But the reformers decided in their own way. By the way, no one thought how many years will pass until the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are completed? With this approach, then several decades. But the role of sergeants in the army is very important. I myself was a sergeant at one time and I understand very well what it is. This helped me in my further officer service. As for the sergeant's place in the post-Soviet Armed Forces, this role is assessed by General of the Army Igor Rodionov, former head of the Academy of the General Staff and Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation. “It is painful to realize,” he wrote in 2003, “but in essence there is no capable institution of sergeants in our army, because what we have does not in any way correspond to the status of a junior commander. A person who has served in the army at least has a clear idea that a sergeant who was drafted into the Armed Forces at the same time as an ordinary and who has undergone short-term training is unlikely to be an authority for soldiers of the same age. Neither in his life experience nor in his knowledge of military affairs differs in any way from the soldier whom he commands and whom he must train and instruct ... from the side of subordinates ". All armies, if they are worth anything, are supported by sergeants. Any professional officer will tell you that. ... G.K. Zhukov spoke. "The army is run by me and the sergeant." (This will be more accurate)

The armed forces have already been manned, do not forget how many officers were dismissed, and in order to at least stay in the army, many went down and stood on sergeant posts, and still sit.

I agree that many sergeant posts are staffed by officers. Well, and what is the prospect of this officer - complete degradation. Well, he will serve for several years as tank commander, squad leader, and so what? I became the tank commander after six months of the training regiment. I had to replace the platoon commander during the exercises. And now I have come to the top - the perfection of the military strategy of Mr. Taburetkin and the chief of the General Staff Officer j) in a sergeant position. And their Taburetkin has already instructed to clean.

Indication is one thing, the other how? To bring reports to write, if only, because there are no posts for them in the army, and many only remained because of their pensions, they need to be promoted at least in some way.

. But the reformers decided in their own way.

They invented something in the training of officers. About the recruitment of 2012 cadets in 8000. Recently, without details - if an officer in the SA received 3 education / as I understand it 1. general civil higher education 2. secondary military special and 3. academy / now only ONE! The general civil diploma was covered with a copper basin, of course. But the shtob didn’t run away to civilian. Yeah! But what did they think of with the Academies? With the Academy of the General Staff? Same on the side? Questions, questions ....

There are many questions - no answers are visible. In 2011, an instruction on recruitment to some schools came in early June. To send the files of candidates by 20.06. So what? Graduates of schools and other educational institutions have already decided on their place of study. Only schools of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Emergencies, FSO, and the FSB have been confused and staffed their schools. But MO officers are not needed. Succession is lost. The children of the officers no longer want to go to military schools, and hope that they do not fall into the meat grinder of the reforms of the next reformer as their fathers. In 2009, as many as 16 people were accepted into the General Staff Academy, and Makarov personally selected them. And who will manage the connections in the future?

The fact that they began to prepare professional non-commissioners is right. A mass army without a sergeant is impossible. But what about the officers? Well, the lieutenant served on a platoon and went into the company with another promotion. Who will come in his place if the school graduates sergeants? Reduce the position? And in the Airborne Forces there is still something to reduce?

When I was in the SA, the biggest mystery for me was the absence of a "sergeant school". The sergeants were replaced by officers. In my opinion, this was also largely the cause of bullying. Young sergeants were "pressed" in the same way as privates. Although it was possible to solve it quite simply. Create a "caste" of sergeants. Even conscripts. Give them a little more rights. Allocate part of the room in the barracks for the sergeant's room. Determine the service life of sergeants One year longer than the usual draft Etc. etc.
I really want to hope that now they will restore order with this matter. A professional sergeant is a serious step forward. IMHO.

This is it, the hope for a professional caste of a junior elementary command in the Russian army! Would not discourage.
