Also planned combat anti-aircraft exercises. The enemy will be two MiG-21 “Lancer” aircraft of the Romanian Air Force and two Typhoon fighters of the British Air Force.
The purpose of the exercise is to increase the level of training of the crews of the participating ships and to strengthen the ability to interact between the NATO countries participating in the maneuvers, as well as between various categories of forces of the participating countries.
The Oscar Austin destroyer of the Arleigh Burke class is equipped with Tomahawk missile launchers, naval artillery systems and torpedoes launching, which allow destroying the enemy at a distance of more than 1000 km.
The American ship arrived at the port of Constanta on Thursday for one-day parking; its crew will make visits to the command of the Romanian Navy and the establishment of the local administration.
