As ITAR-TASS reported yesterday, TV presenter Hala al-Misrati, widely known in Libya during the time of Muammar Gaddafi, was killed in Tripoli prison. According to Al-Arabiya, Khalu was found dead in the 17 February detention cell, on the 1 anniversary of the outbreak of the Libyan uprising.
Khalu al-Misrati was called the mouthpiece of the Gaddafi regime. The former Libyan leader favored her, who became, in fact, the face of the state television channel "Libya TV". When 2011 was attacking the capital in August, the journalist appeared on the air with a revolver - and announced that the fight against the invaders would go to victory, until the enemy was defeated or the fighters were killed themselves. It was one of the last broadcasts: shortly after the fall of Tripoli, the TV channel "went out." And then the former lead was seized.
Hala al-Misrati last appeared in front of the television camera in custody - on the eve of the New, 2012, year. She sat in front of the camera in the chair. She was wearing a tracksuit. Outwardly calm, she silently picked up a piece of paper with the date: 30.12.2011, Friday. The transfer was cut short after just a few seconds. According to reports, after the arrest of the girl was subjected to violence by the rebels. They seem to have decided to avenge her for loyalty and for the protection of Gaddafi ...
After the death of the Libyan leader (in October 2011), many supporters of the Gaddafi regime paid with their lives for their political beliefs.
