New aerobatic team on the Yak-130: competing with England and France
As reported by RIA "News"Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General A. Zelin, the new aerobatic team of the Russian Air Force on the Yak-130 light combat training aircraft will compete with aerobatic teams of Great Britain and France.
In 2011, the Russian Air Force purchased a batch of YN-55 training and combat aircraft from 130. Earlier, the commander-in-chief repeatedly announced plans to create a new group on the basis of these planes. The organization of the aerobatic team would make extensive use of the smoke effects applied by foreign aerobatic teams.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Zelin said that currently the world's leading aviation Powers have aerobatic teams, primarily on light aircraft, successfully performing at world aviation forums. In Russia, there is no group operating on light aircraft. Therefore, the creation of a third aerobatic team on the Yak-130 would successfully complement the world-famous “Knights” and “Swifts”. In addition, the new group would compete with the French Patrol de France and the British Red Arrows.
According to the commander in chief, the creation of this pilot group will strengthen Russia's authority as a great aviation power.
At the same time, the commander-in-chief reported that recently there appeared materials in the mass media about the creation of an aerobatic team on the Yak-130 - instead of "Swifts" and "Vityazi". The commander said: "There is no plan to disband the pride of the Russian Air Force."
Patrol de France is an aerobatic flight group on Alpha Jet light aircraft using smoke generators (red, white, blue). "Red Arrows" - the aerobatic team of the British Royal Air Force; known for performing aerobatics.
Yak-130, developed by OKB im. Yakovlev, designed to train and improve the skills of pilots flying the MiG-29, Su-30 and F-16. This aircraft is equipped with two turbojet engines and can carry up to three tons of combat load. The maximum range of its flight (without additional tanks) is two thousand kilometers. Maximum speed - 1000 km / h. At present, the Yak-130 for Algeria is assembled at the Irkutsk aircraft factory. Also, Irkut has a contract to supply 6 of such aircraft for Libya. However, due to the political crisis, the contract is still frozen.
