Humanitarian aid is delivered to Deir ez-Zor by Russian "Ilah"
According to Syrian sources, almost all of the existing transport aircraft and helicopters are currently involved "to ensure the operation of the air bridge connecting Deir ez-Zor with the mainland." The network has photos in which the "Elah" loaded in Latakia food supplied to the Syrian government through the UN.
“Almost every day,“ Elah ”delivers about 20 tons of humanitarian supplies to Deir ez-Zor. Due to the proximity of the front line to the airfield, aircraft cannot land, therefore cargoes are parachuted using Russian cargo platforms П-7. In addition, food and medicine can be transferred to the northern part of the enclave that has been blocked and cut in two only by helicopters that are sorely lacking, ”the newspaper writes, citing information from the Russian Conciliation Center.
According to the director of the Syrian Center for Countering the Terrorist Ideology, Wajl al-Malas, the humanitarian situation in Deir ez-Zor has deteriorated sharply.
According to al-Malas, "more and more civilians are suffering from battles and air strikes, of which there are about 200 thousand in Deir-ez-Zor, and as a result the number of injured increases, and with them the need for medicines."
Meanwhile, in the near future, the situation in the Deir ez-Zor region will remain extremely difficult. As the Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff, Sergei Rudskoy, said Monday, "IG militants from Iraq continue to arrive". According to the military, in the last week at least 800 militants fled from Mosul towards Syria without hindrance.
