Russian air defense defenseless in front of the JAGM missile

23 June during a test rocket hit a direct hit target size 2,4 × 2,4 m, located at a distance 16 km from the launcher. This test is one of the last steps in the adoption of this munition into service.
The video clearly shows how the rocket leaves the launch guide with climb and hits the target with a dive. One of the test conditions was the testing of a three-mode homing head for the effectiveness of target acquisition in all modes: infrared, laser and millimeter-wave radio waves. Three-mode homing head provides high accuracy of hitting the target and guarantee protection against any interference.
JAGM missile should replace the main weapon helicopters and attack aircraft - AGM-114 Hellfire and AGM-65 Maverick missiles.
The introduction of the JAGM missile into service on the AH-64 Apache helicopters will seriously change the balance of forces on the battlefield. The fact is that modern military systems Defense, which protect the units deployed on the battlefield, have a firing range of about 10 km. Thus, the newest Russian Tor-M2U SAM (which will begin to enter service in 2011) with a "stretch" and assumptions on the firing range only approaches 16 km. The AH-64 with JAGM can quite safely fire at SAMs, while also taking advantage of cover and folds in the terrain - thanks to the "fire-and-forget" principle (i.e. come out from behind cover, fire a missile and hide again).
Naturally, with the advent of JAGM on the battlefield, the firepower and security of the helicopter will increase significantly, and the effectiveness of modern military air defense will decrease.
