What armed Crimea after reunification with Russia
Three years ago, 16 March 2014, Crimea officially became part of the Russian Federation. Prior to this, the Black Sea Fleet (BSF) was based on the peninsula under the Ukrainian-Russian treaties, and from 1997 of the year it was reinforced with just one missile hovercraft Samum and front-line bombers Su-24.

As a result of the 2015, the Black Sea Fleet received more than 200 units of new types of weapons and military equipment, about 40 of various ships and ships, more than 30 aircraft (including Su-30CM fighters).
Parts of the coastal forces were supplemented with 140 units of the latest automotive armored vehicles. The modern coastal missile systems "Bastion" took over duty in the Crimea.
By the end of 2016, the Black Sea Fleet received the most new ships and submarines compared to others fleets Of Russia. And his ships continued to carry out constant combat duty as part of the Mediterranean squadron, re-formed in 2013.
The Crimea was also reinforced with the Triumph C-400 anti-aircraft missile system, the Pantsir-S complexes, Su-30CM fighters and the Bastion coastal missile systems were redeployed.
According to the plans before 2020, the order of 50 new ships and support vessels should be delivered to the fleet.
TRAYS
Diesel-electric submarine "Veliky Novgorod"
Fully equipped underwater component of the Black Sea Fleet. The diesel-electric submarines of the 636.3 project (code Varshavyanka) were among the first modern ships built in the newest stories Russia. Six improved design submarines are based in Novorossiysk and Sevastopol.
In October, 2016-th submarine "Veliky Novgorod" of the 636.3 project entered the fleet's battle force. The sixth, final in this series, diesel-electric submarine "Kolpino" was transferred to the fleet 24 November.
The first two, Novorossiysk and Rostov-on-Don, were received by the military in 2014, and two more by Stary Oskol and Krasnodar in 2015.
Thus, the construction of the first series of these submarines for the Navy is fully completed. The construction of six Varshavyanok for the Black Sea Fleet began in 2010. The creation of the second such series, intended for the Pacific Fleet, is scheduled to begin in the 2017 year and be completed in the 2021 year.
636 demonstrated its capabilities at the end of 2015, when the second in the Black Sea series, the Rostov-on-Don submarine, while in the Mediterranean, used the Caliber cruise missiles to destroy the objects of the Islamic State (IG, banned in the Russian Federation) in Syria.
The Guardians and the "Bayans"
The frigate of the Black Sea Fleet "Admiral Grigorovich"
In 2016, the fleet was replenished with “admiral” series guards, equipped with Caliber-NK attack missile systems.
The lead ship of the 11356 series, the Admiral Grigorovich, was accepted into the 11 fleet in March 2016. In May, he arrived in Sevastopol, and in November he was already performing tasks as part of the Russian naval naval grouping in the eastern Mediterranean. On November 15, the Russian Ministry of Defense published a video of the launch of Caliber cruise missiles at terrorist facilities in Syria.
The second frigate of this series, the Admiral Essen, entered the 7 fleet in June. The third ship of this series, the Admiral Makarov, which is currently undergoing state tests on the Baltic Sea, is scheduled to be handed over to the fleet in the near future. According to the developers, these ships will become reliable fleet workhorses for the coming years.
In 2015, the Black Sea Fleet added two small missile ships (MRK) Serpukhov and Green Dale of the Buyan-M project 21631, equipped with Caliber missiles. Now at the Zelenodolsk plant in Tatarstan for the Black Sea Fleet four more ships of this project are being built.
The hulls of the ships of this project are made according to the "stealth" technology, on the radar screen they are difficult to distinguish from the fishing yacht. The probability of detecting them in the sea is reduced due to the inclined structure of the planes of the silhouette and the absorbing coating.
The ships of the "Buyan-M" project, with their modest dimensions, are capable of becoming a very dangerous adversary. Their missiles can reach targets in the Persian Gulf, the Suez Canal, the Red and Mediterranean Seas within 2500 km radius.
Their fighting qualities were also tested by Syria: three ISCs from the Caspian Flotilla in October 2015 successfully applied their main caliber against the IG grouping.
"BUYAN-M". REFERENCE
The 21631 small rocket ships are multi-purpose ships of the river-sea class. Unlike its prototype - the small artillery ship of the 21630 project - the IRC has almost twice the displacement and is equipped with rocket armament. The armament includes the A-190 artillery, machine guns of the 14,5 and 7,62 calibers of a millimeter, as well as the Duet anti-aircraft artillery complex and the Caliber-NK and Onyx anti-ship cruise missiles.
Small rocket ship "Serpukhov"
Chernomorsky should become one of the first fleets to receive multi-purpose rocket and artillery ships of the near-sea zone of the 22800 "Karakurt" project. It is assumed that they will complement the "Buyans" in actions in the shallow and coastal areas of the Black and Mediterranean Seas.
"Karakurt" is slightly smaller in displacement than the "buyans" (total 800 tons), but will also be equipped with "Caliber". The first two ships are being built at the Pella plant in the Leningrad Region, the third one was laid at the Feodosia plant More.
At the Zelenodolsk plant built and four of the newest modular patrol ships of the project 22160. It is expected that the vessels will be included in each of the four fleets of Russia.
In the future, the Black Sea Fleet will also receive a rescue vessel, of the same type with the Igor Belousov, as well as a new logistic support vessel (sea tug) of the 23120 project.
It is expected that one of the most belligerent ships of the Russian Navy, the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Guards missile cruiser Moskva, may be sent for repairs and modernization in 2018.
AVIATION
Su-30CM multipurpose fighter
In the spring of 2016, a squadron of eight Su-30CM aircraft was formed in the Crimea. In the autumn, the composition of the Naval Aviation of the Black Sea Fleet was replenished with four more fighters.
The aircraft were built at the Irkutsk Aviation Enterprise and transferred to the fleet as part of the fleet renewal program. They became part of a separate naval assault aviation regiment of the Black Sea Fleet, based on the Crimean airfield Saki.
Pilots of the Naval Aviation of the Black Sea Fleet launched the Su-30CM in the Crimea in January 2015. These supersonic fighters will replace the front bombers of the Su-24, which formed the basis of the fleet of naval aviation of the Black Sea Fleet and are being phased out of service.
AIR AND SHORE DEFENSE
Anti-aircraft missile system of long and medium range C-400 "Triumph"
In January, 2017 of the year was launched into combat duty by the Triumph C-400 air defense system. According to the commander of the 4 th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense Viktor Sevastyanov, its capabilities allow not only to protect the Crimean peninsula, but also part of the Krasnodar Territory.
The armament of the Sevastopol-Theodosia Guards anti-aircraft missile regiment was replenished with the system back in the 2016 year. The personnel of the regiment successfully retrained, and in September last year, within the framework of the large-scale Kavkaz-2016 exercises, missile training launches took place.
Alexander Luzan - ex-deputy commander of the Air Defense Forces of the Army for armaments, retired lieutenant-general.
In addition to the C-400, other air defense systems will also be deployed on the peninsula that would enable them to counter the potential anti-radar missiles.
According to Tass military observer Viktor Litovkin, the presence in the Crimea of "Triumph", along with other missile systems such as C-300, Buk-M2, Tor-M2, Pantsir-S1 with air defense systems of surface ships, have the task of protecting the Crimean sky and the Black Sea adjacent to the peninsula (territorial waters and the economic zone of Russia) from uninvited “guests”.

Anti-aircraft missile system of long and medium range C-400 "Triumph"
In 2014, batteries of the coastal missile system "Bastion" were deployed on the coast of the Crimea. In September of the same year, during an exercise, the missile complex destroyed a training target in the central part of the Black Sea at a distance of 90 km. Also on the combat duty stood complex "Ball".
The coastal missile system "Bastion" is equipped with supersonic P-800 "Onyx" missiles ("Yakhont" is an export version. - Approx. TASS). He is able to destroy surface ships of various classes and types. One complex, the ammunition of which can include up to 36 missiles, is able to protect more than 600 km of the coast.
The Ball, armed with subsonic low-altitude X-35 anti-ship missiles, is capable of eliminating enemy’s ground and surface targets at a distance of about 130 km. X-35 is able to destroy ships with a displacement of up to 5000 tons. The rocket can be used in simple and complex weather conditions, day and night, in the conditions of fire and electronic countermeasures of the enemy.
