The Russian Defense Ministry has placed tenders for processing more than 56 millions of documents about the losses, injuries and awards of the participants of the Great Patriotic War, the report said on the official website of the State Procurement. This is reported today Interfax-AVN It is planned to spend up to 932,38 million rubles for document processing and optimization of online databases "Memory of the People" and "Memorial". As follows from the documents, it is planned to process 17,75 million documents clarifying the losses and 32,8 million documents about injuries and deaths from wounds in hospitals and medical battalions. It is also planned to process 20 thousand documents about Soviet prisoners of war and military personnel buried abroad, kept in foreign archives. The processing of documents must be completed before 24 November 2017, specified in the tender.
In addition, the ministry has placed a tender for 328 million rubles to digitize documents for the database on awarding the participants of the Great Patriotic War "People's feat". Under the terms of the tender, it is planned to digitize more than 6 million award documents. The Internet portal "Memory of the People" combines the online database "Memorial" and "feat of the people". In the "Memorial" collected data on the Soviet soldiers who died during the Second World War. At the moment, the database contains more than 30 million records (for one victim, there may be several records from different types of documents). The "People's Feat" database contains data on the awards of the participants of the Great Patriotic War; in total, several tens of millions of documents were digitized for it.
