A court in Odessa confiscated a Tanzanian ship entering the Crimea

The court found the captain guilty of transferring more than 3000 tons of technical soda outside the Ukrainian customs control from the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and decided to confiscate the smuggling goods worth almost 18,5 million hryvnias ($ 688 thousand) to the state. The court also made a decision on confiscation and the vehicle used to commit the offense.
says the release of the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Southern region of Ukraine.

The vessel was detained by the Ukrainian border guard in late November last year on the Danube on its way from Sevastopol to the Moldovan port of Giurgiulesti. On board were 9 team members - all citizens of Syria.

According to the military prosecutor's office, in relation to the captain of the vessel "an indictment was drawn up", the rest of the crew were brought to administrative responsibility.

        We’ve "kicked up" yesterday Yes
Caribbean pirates appeared at the point where the interests of the three largest maritime powers of that time - Spain, France and Britain - converged. They alternately robbed the colonies of these three superpowers.
Ukrainian piracy has appeared today in the Black Sea, where there are interests of Russia, Turkey and the states of Southern Europe. Odessa was the flagship of the smuggling of the sea, and now has also become a pioneer of piracy.

we had smuggling since the creation of the port and did not stop even to the Crimean company during the blockade of all the ports of RI.
Piracy has nothing to do with it. It has long been officially announced that Crimea (ports) should not be visited and ships in Turkey were arrested. And then she tried to get through Ukraine.

The mess. Urgently confiscate the Turkish fleet ...

since the beginning of 2015, after such a long time, the Ukrainian side began to prosecute violators and put into practice its “fresh” legislation. So, in the Sea Trade Port of Berdyansk the ship “Cheremosh” (port of registry of Sevastopol) with 27 sailors on board, including 19 Crimeans, was arrested. Representatives of the Ukrainian authorities said that the reason for the detention of the Crimean ship was a violation of the law prohibiting calls and activities on the territory of the Crimean peninsula. The owner of the ship “Cheremosh” - Sevastopol Andrey Kislyuk said that he would have to pay a fine in the amount of the cost of the cargo. Moreover, the shipowner is already preparing for the complete confiscation of the craft and cargo carried on board.
And now, in March - the ship "Kanton" (IMO: 9412311, Tuvalu flag), which entered the Crimea in its current status, was arrested by the Pechersk District Court of Kiev. The vessel was detained in the port of Kherson for violating the same law. Upon violation, the captain drew up an administrative protocol.
Odessa court in absentia arrested Varyag ferry for supplying Turkish products to the territory of Ukraine occupied by Russia.
And on the black list for arrest they are still waiting for the 93 ship (RF and Turkey mainly).

Purely from the legal side, I can’t understand how, without having control over the Crimea, it is possible to require customs clearance of goods exported from the Crimea?

Arrested for calling at the ports of Crimea without the permission of Ukraine (that is, for calling at any port of Crimea). At the same time, it doesn’t matter what the customs have (although for Ukraine it’s forbidden for transportation, as in the case of the Turkish ferry, the punishment will be even tougher)

The question is what will shipowners prefer - access to the developing Crimea, into which billions are being pumped from the budget, or Ukraine, where the latest economy is crumbling? And was it worth it to raise the question with an edge?

Ukraine has already detained 8 vessels entering Crimea
Crimean shipowners who re-registered in Russia continue to call at ports of mainland Ukraine under Ukrainian flags.
Shipowners do this in the hope of avoiding sanctions from Ukraine for violating the order of entry into the annexed Crimea. But this does not always help; it was under the Ukrainian flag that the Cheremosh trawler was detained in Berdyansk in February.
In total, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office, this year Ukraine detained three vessels calling at the ports of Crimea, and then to mainland Ukraine. In addition to the Cheremosh, this is the Singapore tanker Knebworth and the Canton ship flying the flag of Tuvalu.
at different times, the Melville, Denise, Aliot vessels flying the flag of Moldova, the Palamas flying the flag of Malta and the Dahi Bulbul flying the flag of the Russian Federation were also detained.
In turn, two large Greek ferries, cruising in the Krechensky Strait, crossed the Russian flags, it is possible that the Greek shipowner was not accused of violating the "blockade" of the peninsula, the article says.
today, Ukraine simply does not have the legislation necessary for the arrest of foreign ships for violating the regime of entry into the Crimea.
"But even if the ships are not arrested, and their owners are fined, still a simple ship brings big losses."
    This is still a calculation.
If we consider the dispute in the legal field of Ukraine, then the arrest of the ship is quite justified, since de jure - Crimea for Ukraine, European countries, and almost the whole world is Ukrainian territory and, accordingly, Ukraine has the right to establish the rules for calling or closing ports on its territory . De facto, we have a completely different situation - when the Russian Federation and a number of some countries recognize the territory of Crimea as exclusively Russian. I think this debate will last for many years.
So, from the point of view of the Ukrainian de jure, in Ukraine there is absolutely every reason to arrest a ship on its territory for violating the rules of calling at Crimean ports. Moreover, why Ukraine arrests ships exclusively on the territory of Ukraine, since legally this can be done outside its borders. But this is not possible in every country of entry.

It would be necessary to do something like an answer, state your position, since Ukraine claims that calling at Russian ports is a crime, then calling at Ukrainian ports will be considered a crime. And everyone who goes there without asking permission to slow down. And it wakes up until Ukraine abandons the practice of piracy! A sea blockade of its kind, to enter for free is a million.

Well, at least Ukraine coped with Tanzania. And to arrest a Turkish, or a Chinese ship for entering Crimea is weak!

      +1, bro.
Entry into the waters of 404, as, however, in ours, as well as in Africa, is a pain in the neck for everyone. Lightly, calling at the ports of Europe, and even in Cape Verde (Cape Verde Islands) - comes, and not always, an agent - and we are all free to walk - if only we had a badge)))
