Multi-purpose cars-buggy family "Chaborz"

41
In early March, the domestic industry announced the launch of mass production of the newest multi-purpose machine designed for use by the army and security forces. With the help of several enterprises, a buggy-class car project was created. To date, one model of such equipment has been brought to mass production, while the second similar project is still under development.

New projects of automobiles under the general name “Chaborz” (Chechen. “The Bear and the Wolf”) are of great interest for several reasons at once. First of all, the very reason for the interest is the fact of the creation of such projects by the domestic industry. Due to certain reasons, despite the needs of the army and other structures, the Russian industry could not yet start producing the required buggies. The second interesting feature of the projects is the approach to their creation. Several different organizations participated in the design. In addition, when developing Chaborz cars, existing practices and aggregates are widely used.

The initiator of the development of promising domestic buggies was the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov. Commenting on the recent successes of the new project, he mentioned that the niche of light armed vehicles in our country is now fully occupied by foreign developments due to the lack of domestic counterparts. Given this problem, R. Kadyrov ordered to develop his own similar projects last fall, and then supervised the work. After the construction of experimental equipment, the head of Chechnya took the opportunity to check the car personally.

To work on the project, later named "Chaborz", several industry and security agencies were involved. The design was carried out near Moscow company "F-Motorsport". Also an important role in the project was played by the International Training Center for Special Forces (Gudermes). Chechenavto plant (Argun) was chosen as a manufacturer of experimental and serial equipment. Also on the rights of subcontractors and suppliers of individual structural elements in the new project some other enterprises are involved. For example, at the moment in Argun only assembly of machinery is carried out, although in the future it is planned to increase the share of components produced in the immediate vicinity of the assembly line.

4 in March, the project authors announced the completion of all preliminary work on the Chaborz project M-3 and the start of mass production of such equipment. Now, Chechenavto is ready to accept orders and produce serial buggies. Announced the possibility of producing up to three dozen cars per month. As reported, while the enterprise-manufacturer plans to carry out only SKD assembly. Subsequently, it is expected to master the production of a larger number of components, which will accordingly affect the complexity of production.

Machine type M-3 can be produced in two main versions. The first is intended for use by security forces or military. In this regard, she receives funds for installation weapons and other special equipment. Having lost such equipment, the car can be used by civilians. Already announced the cost of serial equipment. The military version of “Chaborza” will cost the customer 1,5 million rubles, the civilian version 1,1 million.

It is reported that in the Chaborz family in the foreseeable future a new car may appear. The project with the designation M-6 aims to create an enlarged vehicle with increased carrying capacity. It is assumed that such a buggy will not only save, but also to a certain extent increase the potential of the sample already presented. Due to the large size M-6 can carry up to six people. In addition, it will be possible to retool equipment to solve specific problems. A multi-purpose tractor, ambulance, reconnaissance-strike complex, etc. can be created on the basis of a larger buggy.

To date, only the Chaborz project M-3 has been implemented in the metal. The second machine is still at the design stage and can be presented to the general public only in the form of images from artists. Nevertheless, the authors of the projects have already published some information about the new technology, which can help in drawing up the overall picture.

The presented M-3 buggy is a typical representative of its class and has a traditional architecture for such a technique. In order to ensure the required characteristics, a powerful frame welded from a large number of pipes was used, on top of which only a few outer skin elements were installed. At the same time, certain measures were taken aimed at solving combat tasks. Despite its small size, the car can carry people, cargo and weapons.

The main element of the car "Chaborz" is a frame assembled from pipes. It has a wedge-shaped front part having fastenings for mounting parts of the front axle. Behind the front compartment, the frame expands to form a cabin. From above, the crew of the vehicle is protected by a metal sheet of the roof, which can also be used for laying the necessary loads. The back of the frame has a compartment for installing the engine and parts of transmission units. Above the motor provides a small platform for certain goods.

The Chechenavto enterprise is currently engaged in assembling Lada cars, which in a certain way affected the design of promising buggies. So, the car M-3 is equipped with a serial engine brand VAZ. The gearbox is borrowed from the Grant car, and the steering systems were taken from the serial Kalina. Also provides for the use of various other ready-made components. This approach to the selection of components and assemblies should have a positive impact on the complexity and cost of production.

The car M-3 has a two-axle chassis with a wheel formula 4х2. The transmission available only drives the rear axle. The car has an independent suspension of all four wheels with an inclined arrangement of the elastic elements of the front axle and vertical on the rear. In case of any incidents during the execution of the tasks, the buggy carries a spare wheel. It is placed on the frame mounts in its left rear.

A sample delivered in a series is capable of carrying up to three people or an equivalent cargo. The driver is placed in an open cab at the left side. At his workplace there are a steering column, gearbox control levers and a parking brake, as well as a compact dashboard. Before the driver provides for the installation of a windshield of small height. Glass does not reach the starboard, allowing the use of weapons. On the right seat of the cabin passenger arrow is located. The third crew member is invited to ride in the back seat, located above the engine compartment. Depending on the tasks and other factors, the machine can take on board the cargo. They should be transported on the roof of the cabin, on the sides, etc. Loading capacity of the buggy - 250 kg.

One of the Chaborz models of the M-3 version presented at the beginning of March was armed. At the level of the windshield in the cabin mounted machine-gun installation, providing guidance of weapons in two planes. Due to the use of such a device mounted on one of the frame pipes, it was necessary to reduce the width of the glazing. The shooter located next to the driver is proposed to use the PKM machine gun. Another installation for weapons is in the rear passenger seat. Behind the third member of the crew there is a rack with mounts for armament. The presented vehicle carried an automatic grenade launcher on this installation.

According to official data, the new multi-purpose car M-3 is designed for use in mountainous or steppe areas, as well as in deserts. It is alleged that the car has passed the necessary tests and confirmed the calculated characteristics. The successful completion of inspections allowed to proceed with the development of mass production. There is the possibility of producing several dozen serial machines per month.

In parallel with the deployment of the release of the M-3 type, the development of the M-6 buggy continues. In this case, we are talking about a car of increased size, characterized by a corresponding increase in the basic characteristics. First of all, by increasing the size of the machine, it is planned to increase the loading capacity to 800 kg. This will make it possible to create not only transport vehicles for transporting people or goods, but also the development of special modifications with different equipment or weapons.

Chaborz in the M-6 version should retain the frame structure with the installation of a certain number of sheathing sheets. At the same time, the new machine should differ in increased sizes. Bringing the total length of the car to 4,3 m, the authors of the project intend to double the cab, making it a two-row. In addition, it is possible to increase the aft cargo area, ensuring the transport of larger loads.

According to published information, a larger buggy will be equipped with an HP 150-200 engine. At the same time, the possibility of using a gasoline engine or a diesel-electric hybrid system is being considered. Perhaps the use of an automatic or manual transmission. Transmission of the car will provide a drive of all four wheels. M-6 will be able to reach speeds up to 130 km / h. Assumed to use power steering.

M-3 on trial. Photo International Special Forces Training Center

Depending on the configuration, the Chaborz M-6 can transport up to six people, including the driver. Chairs with seat belts of the “five-point” system will be installed for them. A certain comfort of the trip will be provided by the presence of low sides and frontal glazing of a small area. If necessary, the buggy can perform the functions of an ambulance. Folding the rear seats and removing the load from the stern platform, the crew will be able to take on board two lying injured on stretchers. For the carriage of the latter, the car will receive regular fastenings

A larger multipurpose vehicle will need to retain a front machine gun mount mounted next to the windshield. It is also possible to use additional devices of similar purpose. They can be mounted on the side racks of the frame and can be used for weapons controlled by rear passengers. The most important difference of the M-6 project, directly related to the increased cabin size, is the presence of a turret on the roof. At such an installation, the buggy will be able to carry a large-caliber machine gun capable of firing targets in all directions. It is possible that in the future, the upper turret could be used for mounting weapons of other classes.

The used modular configuration principle allows configuration of the equipment in accordance with the existing goals and objectives. It can be assumed that in the future the M-6 buggy will be able to take on board not only small arms. Of particular interest in some contexts may be, for example, modification of technology with anti-tank missile system. In addition, we can not exclude the possibility of equipping the car with special equipment for intelligence purposes.

Chaborz M-6 will have a length of about 4,3 m, a width of 1,9 m and a height of 1,8 m. The total weight is about 1500 kg. It should be borne in mind that in the course of further development of the project, these parameters may change markedly. In addition, the ability to install various weapons or equipment and other factors can appropriately change both the geometric and weight indicators of the finished equipment.

The timing of the start of mass production of a larger buggy has not yet been clarified. Perhaps the design work and tests can be completed before the end of this year, after which the machine will go into the series. However, official data on this has not yet been published.

The two newest projects of the Chaborz family are of great interest in the context of army re-equipment and the development of military equipment. First of all, such interest is associated with the actual absence of such samples in the product range of the domestic defense industry. Various units of the armed forces and security forces often need similar lightweight multi-purpose machines, but due to the lack of domestic samples, equipment had to be purchased abroad. Two new projects have certain chances to correct this situation and make the security forces less dependent on imports.

Description of the future buggy "Chaborz" M-6. International Special Forces Training Center

The appearance of the presented M-3 machine and so far the projected M-6 clearly indicates that the project authors developed new equipment, taking into account foreign experience and best practices. As a result, from the point of view of the general appearance of the Chaborz car, they do not differ much from similar foreign models. In this case there may be differences in the technical and operational characteristics, directly related to the use of different components and assemblies.

According to statements by representatives of organizations participating in the project, Chechenavto is capable of producing up to 30 Chaborz vehicles per month. At the same time information about the actual production load and existing orders have not yet been reported. It can be assumed that security forces and the military, who are interested in such equipment, can actually order a certain number of new cars. In addition, we can not exclude the full and successful entry into the civilian market. However, for the time being, similar prospects for the M-3 and M-6 projects can only be subject to predictions.

Seeing the needs of customers, the domestic industry created the first projects in a new category. Together, a number of enterprises in just a few months created the first project of a promising multi-purpose buggy. This machine has already been delivered to the series and can be delivered to customers. The second project is still at the development stage, but in the foreseeable future it may reach the stage of construction and testing of experimental equipment. Thus, while the family of special equipment "Chaborz" looks very interesting and may have certain prospects. Whether the two samples can meet the expectations - time will tell.

It can be assumed that the security forces and the military, showing interest in such technology, can indeed order a number of new machines. In addition, a full and successful entry into the civilian market cannot be ruled out. Nevertheless, while such prospects for the M-3 and M-6 projects can only be a topic of forecasts.

The machine is needed, but the article is more like a brochure. It is high time to produce such cars for our auto industry. Homemade products in the USSR probably appeared about fifty years ago and since then everyone has been talking that such machines are needed.

There is only one question: will this equipment in tactical numbers (10 pieces) pass along the ice of the Sea of Azov and become a new cart, or will it be lost among interesting, but not "fired" projects?

But, the origin of this name has its own history. The fact is that the very first buggies were built in the 1950s in the United States. Then, as a rule, for the production of Buggy, the basis of the Volkswagen Bug (Volkswagen Beetle) was used. It is from this word “Bug” that they got the derivative diminutive form “Buggy”, which translates as “bug”.

Yes, in the Grant Tour in the 7th issue in detail.
According to the transfer, there they hit the road with a ribbed coating, you could get on such a road only by trucks and the vibration is terrible, even the pressure reduction on the wheels doesn’t save it, but that’s all from the trucks.

Exactly, during spring floods, the road is flooded and in summer the top layer is dry, you will come out to the side of the sand out of the sand. You have to go on any car with stops so that the hodovka is not killed at all.
The track does not have a special purpose, they are poorly watched. And it is almost 100 km, in my case, and more so, are used by local residents and vacationers who are going to Balkhash or Ili.

A single-wheel drive car with good rubber and a driver will not greatly yield to an all-wheel drive. Units "Lada" will give an excellent head start on the durability of the motorcycle engine and variator from the ATV. Interestingly, the “military” Condor has a special luggage space for a spare variator belt, and how quickly does it change in the field?

CVT than bad? Anyone who rides a month in a car with a CVT will never want another type of transmission. You need to get used to this transmission. You just have to prepare the load in advance. She has an energy of half a second.

All military vehicles are not designed for long life.

But the buggies have a very, very small range of army use, which has long been blocked by adopted equipment. Talking about the need for such a machine for the army does not even make sense.

CVT by car will appeal only to those who travel light and on hard roads. And if you load the car to full and ride through the mud, then the variator will not last long. As for ATVs and the like, there CVTs go about 10 thousand km.

The "open architecture" of the machine can impress someone, fresh air-sea breeze laughing but it’s unlikely that the car will be operated on the coast. Mountains, high humidity, roads, steppes and deserts, frost or heat, snow, dust and sand do not exist everywhere. I think there the car will cope like a standard Niva.
And so he killed and drove along the dunes on the Opel Korsa in 1984, kill. Then Niva occupied this niche. Instead of a motorcycle Ural with a cradle, it was sold due to lack of spare parts. Cheap and budget.
