After installing an integrated modular avionics system (Integrated Modular Avionics System, IMAS), developed by a consortium of companies Aselsan, TAI and Sikorsky with the participation of the Turkish Air Force, these machines will receive an index of T-70, ”explains the resource.
In the future, the assembly of the T-70 helicopters will be adjusted in Turkey.
The first helicopter will be used as a prototype for testing the IMAS, which differs from the basic S-70i Black Hawk avionics with fundamentally new control panels, significantly simplifying the work of pilots.
The T-70 is a modification of the export version of the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, designated as S-70 International and developed by Sikorsky Aircraft specifically for Turkey. The machine accelerates to 361 km / h, flies up to a distance of 2,2 thousand km (with outboard tanks), and is capable of carrying cargo weighing up to 1,2 t or 11 equipped paratroopers. The helicopter can be equipped with various types of weapons, depending on the modification, incl. guided and unguided rockets, automatic cannon and machine gun.
