The first launch of the SM39 rocket from an Indian submarine of the Scorpene type

According to the Internet portal warspot.ruThe 2 March Kalvari submarine, belonging to the type of submarines in service with India Scorpene, for the first time completed a test launch of an anti-ship missile SM39 in the waters of the Arabian Sea, successfully hitting the target. The old ship serving as such was “at a great distance from the launch site” (the maximum range of the missile’s flight is 50 km).

The peculiarity of the SM39 rocket is the ability to launch from a depth exceeding the periscope (according to unofficial data - 50 – 60 m), which reduces the risk of a submarine being detected when it launches a missile strike.

Kalvari was launched in April 2015 of the year, but has not yet been put into service due to the absence of heavy Black Shark torpedoes, which are the main armament of this type of submarine.

The contract for the construction of six diesel-electric submarines of the Scorpene type was concluded between the Ministry of Defense of India and the French company DCNS in 2004. As follows from the agreement, the first submarine was supposed to be built as early as 2012, but at the moment the program’s implementation is three years behind the deadline, and its expenses have increased from the planned $ 3 billion ($ 500 million for each submarine) to more than $ 4 billion

Submarines of the Scorpene type were designed by the French company DCNS for the needs of the French Navy, but the country's military department decided in favor of nuclear submarines. To date, submarines of this type are built for the Navy of Chile, Malaysia, India and Brazil, other countries are interested in them.

Hindus are great, they are bending their line. There are many populations, technologies are being honed.

China and Pakistan are close by - you won’t relax there.

Only in competition does quality appear. Yes, and England left its mark - I think they do not want a repeat.

Why didn’t they build them in India? Where is this Indian principle of production on its territory?

Yes, the paddlers are in no hurry to transfer their technologies to Hindi. And then, such a price for DPL - well, very richly! There is no information in the infe that it is with or without VNEU !? If without anaerobic dvigla - then generally a paragraph! Yes, and the Exosets-S have something with them, well, they fly a hell of a short time ... But they have to sign on 150 km! and here on you - just something 50 ... At such a distance, and Black Shark can already reach. Then the meaning of RCC is lost. True, at such a distance there is one advantage - the control center from the HACK and another is not necessary.
And so, Hindi will “master” it for a long time: there is one ASBU that is worth it! again, an integrated computer for controlling all ship systems. Electric propulsion, TLV re-scope, many new products and their level is high-tech! Interestingly, we "bought" a shpiyon there, or not? Already dumber than a hottz, look at the French twinkles, but dig deeper into the brains of their BIUS ... try on adult software !!! bully

That's for sure! And it’s not a fact that they will thoroughly master it. What guarded me: like our equipment, “the assembly should be in India”, but here you are ... And I don’t doubt about the “shpies”, we will certainly carefully read wink

And who can tell why the French submarines are so good that they disperse so well around the world?

Well, we still bought ships from France during the time of RI. They have always been ahead of us in the construction of the fleet and the technologies appropriate.

England and France are good shipbuilders. Well, for England I won’t tell you right now

They didn’t write anything about the rocket, what kind of rocket it is. What painfully resembles our Uran-E?
