Syrian T-72 with an unusual booking scheme

31
«Messenger of Mordovia»Analyzed the features of Syrian modernization tank T-72, which, as before сообщалось, was subjected to fire from the enemy anti-tank missile system and survived in this case.

Experts drew attention to a very unusual car booking scheme. Instead of lattice screens typical of Syria, this tank has solid armored plates mounted at an angle in the front upper part of the hull, on the turret and sides. An extra steel box welded to a very vulnerable lower frontal hull detail (NLD), which the Syrians, as a rule, fill with sand and gravel. During the fighting, it happened that the militants' rocket grenades hit the driver through NLD. Thanks to the designated modernization, this threat is minimized, as was demonstrated by the incident with the defeat of the tank ATGM.

With 2015, the year has developed in Syria unique situation: government forces in the fight against terrorists use almost all modifications of Russian tanks T-72 and T-90, this was not observed in any military conflict. The Syrian army began to receive tanks T-72 (export version) "Ural-1" with an optical sight-rangefinder TPD-2-49 at the beginning of the 80-s. Compared with the machines in service with the Soviet army, they were made in a simpler and, accordingly, cheaper version. Then, T-72M, T-72М1 and T-72А appeared in Syria. The main difference from the original version was the use of the TPDK-1 laser sight-rangefinder on them, which significantly increased the shooting accuracy. In addition, there were other innovations, such as a modernized gun and smoke grenade launchers on T-72М1 and T-72А. Around the same time, Russian tanks T-90А appeared in Syria. A little later, the active participation of T-72B in combat operations against terrorists was recorded, and in the area of Syrian Aleppo Russian T-90 1992 samples of the year were observed.

What's so unusual? They were scalded with everything that was overlapping. Where it was possible they fell asleep with what they could, where they themselves did not fall asleep, it was dusted later.
Something like a multi-layer reservation, but much worse than a dynamic defense, and full multi-layer armor.
      Needle for invention is cunning.
If these craftsmen didn’t even ride with open hatches ... Yes, they wouldn’t throw cars at the slightest hit in the slip.

If so, would they continue to set the trellis screens further, dynamic protection of the money is worth it, even the Americans just began to install it on their abrams and multilayer armor from the Syrians in eastern Europe?

I watched the video. As always, two people sat leaning out, opening the hatches at the time of the blast. They are fighting in the old fashion. But you might know that you won’t survive on the armor now. What happened to them after the blast is silent?

I admit I have never been in a tank. But, just like you, this state of affairs is annoying ... How about a battle with an open hatch !? The only explanation I could think of is that in the Syrian climate with closed hatches and without air conditioning, the crew will die without any shelling ... Maybe the tank crew will correct ...

And remember the shots about our special forces in Syria, where there is a shot of an ATGM getting into a pickup truck, in the back of which there were two three broad women who were thrown out by the blast wave and who then got up and began to vigorously escape from the truck.
So it’s not a fact or fact, and as they later wrote about the tank, the mechanic’s driver was injured and wounded, not a word about the others.

if the hatches are closed, after getting into the tank the team sometimes finds it difficult to quickly evacuate if possible.
in addition, if there is no eye over the armor, then the tank is 90 percent blind. there is no problem approaching a tank poorly covered by infantry, which is not uncommon in Syria.

They would take down the tower, since nothing is visible. Why then instruments? Something I didn’t see videos, where in the battles in Syria, the crew was sitting on top of the tank. Most likely the tankers did not expect a blow in this video. And this can only explain the carelessness of people? But the burned T-90 because of the open hatch was seen by everyone. It seems to me that you specifically create an opinion on the effectiveness of open driving. Is Israel the enemy of Syria like you are doing subversive activity?

Dear Mar. Thira, but Maki Avellyevich is right !! In Syria, in the viewing instruments no x..not visible! And after a shot, such a frail pillar of dust is still rising .... He is also right in the fact that ATS tanks operate mainly without normal infantry cover. If you are watching the video so carefully, you should have noticed that on all these videos about tank destruction by ATGM infantry units are not observed nearby hi

I agree with you. The impact of the cumulative charge is peculiar. More recently, there was a transmission why the Abrams didn’t burn like in Syria with the separation of the tower. The whole thing is in the ammunition, not armor-piercing, but high-explosive fragmentation charges.

Goal is either cunning or not cunning, but you always want to live, but in the absence of money, and this perpetuum mobile will come down ... if only the crew felt protected, then they would not abandon, because the fear of towers being torn off is hard to eradicate, here they drop it, not even damaged after hitting ...

I didn’t lie next to the tank. God was merciful. I saw it only at the exercises. So I asked. Did you have to lie around? And normal people answered me right and not like you. Did you see the habit of being always offended by the Russians? And oh, as you put it, things you need to write through A. A dictionary, install, it will be easier. Rolikov has reviewed enough, with open hatches I haven’t seen tanks going into battle anywhere! So they didn’t convince. Once again, the tankers didn’t seem to expect a blow. There is no such instruction that would go with open hatches, and even from get out of them.

when you are in armored vehicles, especially during a war, there is a feeling that you are in an iron trap. which, in principle, is true.
if they hit and stayed alive but say injured or shell-shocked, I really want to have an open hole to crawl out somehow. This is clear?

"There is no such instruction that would go into battle with open hatches"

in war, in general, instructions do not work, everyone thinks with his own head how to fight and survive

From the article and comments, one conclusion can be made:
T-72 is the best medium tank of the 21st century. It’s time for him to retire, but modernization does not allow him to do this, because he could serve as a senior driver on it to upgrade this “miracle tank”, for quite some time.
