According to the Internet portal warspot.ru, Northrop Grumman Corporation has successfully completed flight tests of a new model of multi-purpose helicopter, called UH-60V Black Hawk. The modernization consists in replacing the equipment of pilots with new sensors and instruments, which significantly increases the awareness of the crew and improves the combat capabilities of the helicopter. The service life of the machines is extended by at least 10 years. As a result of the update, the helicopters are fully consistent with the latest model of the Black Hawk helicopter, which is produced under the UH-60M index.

The Pentagon is planning to upgrade the fleet of helicopters UH-60L

Modernized version developed with 2014, the first flight was made in January 19 2017 years. In total, the Pentagon plans to bring the UH-760L 60 helicopters to the UH-60V version, which should supplement the XHUMX UH-1375M modification machines already in service with the American army.

UH-60 Black Hawk (Eng. "Black Hawk") - is a multi-purpose helicopter, created by the American company Sikorsky. The helicopter is in service with the American army, where he replaced the famous Bell UH-1, which is one of the symbols of the Vietnam War. A new rotary-winged vehicle was designed to transport 11 troops in full gear. A prototype helicopter flew into the sky on October 17 1974, and on December 23 1976, the helicopter became the winner of the competition announced by the military and was put into mass production. The helicopter is still being produced. Since 1977, more than 4 thousands of UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters of various modifications have been produced, of which about 2500 is in service with the American army. The general public is familiar with the helicopter from the feature film “Black Hawk Down”, which tells about the events in the Somali capital in 1993.

It’s a pity that Sikorsky pulled into mattress after the revolution ... He gave excellent mattresses to mattresses ...

it's better. The Red Terror did not try to punish them.

Tried it. He was a class enemy of the Bolsheviks and fled precisely from red terror. Friend of the king after all, and nobleman.
“Igor Ivanovich left Russia because he was threatened with execution,” recalls his son, Sergei Igorevich, the successor to his father’s business. - In early 1918, one of his former employees, who worked for the Bolsheviks, came to his house at night, and said: “The situation is very dangerous. I saw an order for your execution. ”

Bullshit. As if orders for the execution were posted at the entrance to the public. Let me remind you, after October 1917, the Bolsheviks released their ideological enemies to freedom on parole, which sometimes they even respected. And only then the war and terror began, in which other nobles and friends of the tsar appeared just on the side of the Bolsheviks.

This is not bullshit but a real historical fact. The Bolsheviks shot nobles. And I don’t see a single reason why Igor Ivanovich Sikorsky should have stayed in Russia.

I agree. The prospects for aircraft manufacturing in Russia in 1918 looked hopeless. Unlike the USA.

          not in vain
if it were not for the use of the American helicopter, it is not at all a fact that they would pay attention to this type of equipment.
So it is likely that the world in this case could even be left without these beautiful cars.

It has. He was the owner of a manufacturer's company.

He was a senior citizen. And it was done by hundreds of other engineers, among whom there were no Russians.

And these engineers were gathered and trained by Igor Sikorsky's company. And she also received an order for development.
And in fact, what does Sikorsky have to do with the creation of a helicopter school, which created this wonderful helicopter.

These engineers were prepared by the Massachusetts University of Technology. Advanced engineering was also present. And generous orders from the Pentagon. Sikorsky just got into the stream, just like Hughes, Bell, Northrop, Boeing and McDonnell with his friend Douglas.

Well, of course. If the facts interfere with the cozy inner world, so much the worse for the facts.
And for the Kamov Design Bureau, the MAI prepared the engineers. It turns out that he has nothing to do with the creation of the Ka-50. He did not advance the coaxial scheme and formed the collective of his design bureau. So?

So. Kamov is not related to the Ka-50. His surname is only carried by a design bureau with hundreds of engineers who never knew Kamov personally. Nowadays, a loner cannot conduct independent R&D. Mandatory massive financial participation of the state, a powerful production base, customer awareness of the goals and prospects of the project. The identity of the project manager itself is secondary. If the country's economy allows the production of helicopters, then there will certainly be talented engineers for this (none of which is indispensable). But not the other way around.

all right. In this context, Sikorsky turned out to be one of those people with whose name the UH-60 helicopter is connected.
If Sikorsky weren't there, a similar helicopter would have been anyway. But obviously a little different. Both inside and out.

The Pentagon, in a blow, was given loot to increase the composition of the fleet, then they successfully bought "penguins", and now they are modernizing the turntables.
