Reliable as T-90: Syrian T-62M against ATGM

8
A video appeared on the Web showing the ATGM hit the T-62M tank of the Syrian army. These combat vehicles relatively recently replenished arsenals of government troops. The incident was fixed in the course of hostilities against the terrorist group ISIS banned in Russia in the area of the T4 air base.

The ATGM, apparently, fell into the cermet blocks installed on the turret, which substantially neutralized the penetrating power of the shaped charge. All three crew members left the tank.

But it seems NOT in the TOWER that hit, but in the fenestrated shelf .... And the tank is clearly from a fresh batch, even the memory cover is still in place ...

Put in a prominent place and waiting for the shot, what did they learn in four years of the war? And the armor is good, it didn’t catch fire.

So we learned not to use additional tanks on the fenders ... so as not to burn

Wow. I thought getting any ptur not in the forehead is the end of both the tank and the crew. And why they didn’t shoot at them. They take it off, but there was no machine gun / machine gun nearby.

Somehow, the firing position of this “sixty-two” was very much chosen in jury - the flank was not covered at all, the tank crews were carried away by frontal targets, but forgot about the sides? And where does the infantry guard look, if it’s easy, by video, to launch an ATGM, after all, the missile guidance continued for about 15 seconds?

Why so shamefully leave almost the whole car, or Russia will still send?

      gorsten79,
The rocket flew for more than 13 seconds, it is more than 2.5km. From this distance, only a top-class sniper can get.
