How to divide the skin of an unkilled bear, or Azerbaijan is trying to cut off a piece of Iranian pie

How to divide the skin of an unkilled bear, or Azerbaijan is trying to cut off a piece of Iranian pieIn the early days of February, the international community was forced to pay special attention to the Azerbaijani parliament. What event that led to instantaneous resonance could happen within the walls of the Milli Majlis? The thing is that at one of the meetings the opposition deputies put forward the idea that the current name of the country in which they were lucky to live and work does not correspond historical realities. It turns out that the name "Republic of Azerbaijan" should be changed to "Northern Azerbaijan", which, obviously, emphasizes the presence of Azerbaijan, at least South. And there really is one. Yes, and several times larger than that of Azerbaijan, whose capital is currently the city of Baku.

Only here the whole hitch is that this very Southern Azerbaijan territorially belongs to Iran and so far no manifestations of the people's will about unification with Aliyev Azerbaijan show. At the same time, in the South, or as it is officially called, Iranian Azerbaijan includes both Eastern and Western Azerbaijan, plus a couple of provinces: Zanjan and Ardebil. The total population of this territory is about 30 million people.

It would seem that there is nothing extraordinary in the fact that a certain opposition deputy expressed a rather scandalous idea, which looks like obvious claims to redraw the existing borders. We in the State Duma also have enough of those representatives of the opposition, who then call on Russian soldiers to wash their boots in the Indian Ocean (although they formally deny their words), then to drop the atomic bomb on Grozny, then to hang all non-system oppositionists on the lampposts. However, the matter does not go beyond parliamentary clownery.

But in Baku, the situation looks somewhat different. The idea of renaming the Republic of Azerbaijan to Northern Azerbaijan is not just expressed by opposition deputies, but also supported by representatives of the ruling New Azerbaijan party. The same idea was supported by representatives of other political forces, for example, the Fatherland Party, which is considered pro-government. Experts in Azerbaijan have not seen such a rapprochement of the positions of the parliamentary opposition and the majority in the Milli Majlis for a long time.

But such a unity must be based on something. And the foundation of this kind really is. This basis can only be a possible US and NATO aggression against Iran. By the way, one can even assume that the idea that came to the heads of the opposition and was supported by the ruling party was actually thrown at the Milli Majlis from the outside, because with all due respect for the independence of present-day Azerbaijan, such global thoughts cannot be considered the prerogative of the parliament of a state far from status superpower, able to redraw the map of the world.

Perhaps the West, led by the United States, is trying to grope Iran’s pain point, which it will use for its own purposes. This sore point should be the very “Southern Azerbaijan”, whose population can be used as a revolutionary mass. It turns out that again certain forces are trying to launch the classic scenario, when a controlled (until a certain moment) opposition is nurtured within the state. And then this opposition, having received proper funding, will start doing its job, as happened in Libya, is happening in Syria and could have happened in Russia. Only now the Americans do not want to flaunt themselves, but try to solve the problem by proxy. The “hands” suitable for this turned out to be Azerbaijani. Like, if Baku wants to demonstrate its loyalty to the United States, then let it try to shatter Iran with its available capabilities. Therefore, the idea arose to rename the current Azerbaijan to Northern Azerbaijan.

In this case, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will have to make a difficult choice: take the lead from the “generators” of bold ideas or show the West that such adventures are completely unacceptable for him.

Let's not forget that Azerbaijan is a state bordering Russia, therefore any conflict in the South Caucasus can automatically spread to the North Caucasus, which cannot be called calm without that. In addition, the Gabala RLS, which is leased by the Russian Federation, is located in Azerbaijan. By the way, the term of its lease expires very soon. If Baku does not wish to extend the lease further, then it will be immediately clear which path of further development the current Azerbaijan chooses. True, the press has already received information that Mr. Aliyev, in principle, is in favor of extending the terms of the Russian military in the Republic, but at the same time plans to repeatedly increase the rent of the Gabala radar station. If the further rent by the Azerbaijani side is approved, then all these words about the appearance of North Azerbaijan on the world map become, in fact, meaningless. After all, it will be more expensive for Baku to play a double game.

The situation with Iraqi Kurds, too, was once used by Americans for their own purposes, only then no single Kurdistan appeared on the world map. Therefore, we can definitely say that South Azerbaijan, which supposedly can become part of Greater Azerbaijan, is just a bait for Baku. Obviously, the White House will not agree to donate Aliyev a huge piece of Iranian land in the event of a successful campaign against Tehran.

In addition, in the case of a counterproductive focus on splitting Iran and on refusing to cooperate with Russia, Baku may lose more than it gain. If you count the number of Azerbaijanis working on the territory of Russia today, the closure of the borders between our countries will lead to huge financial losses for Baku. And here it is unlikely that American assistance, if any, will be provided, will block these losses.
This proves once again that the ghostly crane in the sky today does not promise anything positive for the current Azerbaijani leadership.

"In the first lines of my letter ..." So, here, just in the last lines of the article, there is a life-giving recipe for bringing to life the leadership of Azerbaijan! All these "dzhans" will fly to Russia ... on airplanes to express their bewildered questions to Ilkhomchik if Ilkhomchik starts muddy the waters. The time for whispering is running out and, in the case of the loyalty of yesterday's partner in relation to the enemy, the partner, automatically, becomes the enemy! And there is no time to breed with the enemy of shusi-pusi! bully

Yesaul writes everything correctly - if Azerbaijan takes an anti-Iranian position, it automatically means anti-Russian. Only a blind man does not see that in fact Russia supports Iran in its unequal confrontation with the aggressor.
And if Russia cannot yet send troops into Iran and openly prevent aggression, then certainly it will have to influence Azerbaijan and Georgia - there will be leverage

"... that Mr. Aliyev, in principle, is in favor of extending the terms of the stay of the Russian military in the Republic, but at the same time plans to increase the lease of the Gabala radar station many times over. ..." Well, there is an adequate answer to this. TONISCHENKO! Let's say he makes a statement that representatives of the Azeri diaspora in Russia stand behind counters in the markets with unwashed hands and sell unwashed vegetables and fruits, and pose a potential threat to the health of Russian citizens and send a couple of million Azeris to their historical homeland ... to take, say, a shower ...

Here we must recall the story. As a result of the Russian-Persian war of 1804-1813, the result of which was the Gulistan peace treaty of 1813 (, an agreement between Russia and Iran, signed on October 24 (November 5) in the village of Gulistan in Karabakh) According to the agreement, Persia recognized the transition to Russia of Dagestan, Kartli, Kakheti , Megrelia, Imereti, Guria, Abkhazia and parts of modern [2] [3] [4] Azerbaijan where the khanates were: Baku, Karabakh, Ganja, Shirvan, Sheki, Derbent, Cuban. Part of the Talysh Khanate also went to Russia.

That is, modern borders between Azerbaijan and Iran along the Araks River were formed

With the fall of the Soviet Union and the formation of independent states, the problem of Azerbaijan for Iranians acquired completely new aspects. Independence, oil and gas, close to the Turkish Latin alphabet, all this is just surroundings. Now this state had no formal relation to Russia, which had conquered the corresponding territory from Persia at the beginning of the XNUMXth century and to its treaties with it. True, there are treaties between Russia and Turkey, but the wind has clearly changed direction.
He came in 1992-93. Abulfaz Elchibey, leader of the pan-Turkic trend party “National Front”, accepted the ideology of “united Azerbaijan” to power in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The open statements made by Elchibey in this regard led to the deterioration of Azerbaijani-Iranian relations. On the other hand, the very reality of the existence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the pan-Turkic attitude of its political elite, intensified the separatist movements of Azerbaijanis living in Iran.
The problem of South (Iranian) Azerbaijan is the main "painful point" in relations between post-Soviet Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Since gaining independence, the official ideology and historiography of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been dominated by the view of Azerbaijan as a single historical territory, artificially divided into two parts. It is customary to consider Azerbaijanis as a "divided people" between South Azerbaijan (within Iran) and the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 1945, the Soviet Union tried to create a Soviet republic on the territory of South Azerbaijan, headed by Seyid Jafar Pishevari (1897-1947). Furthermore, autonomy of South Azerbaijan was recognized by the Iranian government. However, after the withdrawal of the Soviet military contingent from Iran, this republic was liquidated by the Iranian authorities. About 30 thousand Iranian Azerbaijanis settled in the Azerbaijan SSR. The current size of this group is estimated at 7 thousand people.
Iranian authorities have repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the patronage of Baku to the organizations of Iranian Azerbaijanis (the National Liberation Movement of South Azerbaijanis). In 1999, Heydar Aliyev signed a decree granting Azerbaijani citizenship to Piruza Dilanchi, one of the leaders of the irredentist organization of Iranian Azerbaijanis. On the part of Azerbaijani politicians, the Iranian authorities are accused of supporting radical Islamists inside Azerbaijan.
However, the current elite of Azerbaijan does not have political resources to turn the "unifying" plans of Azerbaijani national-radicals into practice. In the project of “democratization” of South Azerbaijan (and they can be implemented based on historical precedents), firstly, the United States would be interested, which is interested in closer anchoring of independent Azerbaijan and the fight against Iran indirectly, not directly. leader of the National Awakening Movement of South Azerbaijan M. Chehranganli. Israel would be interested in the struggle for self-determination of Azerbaijanis in Iran. This would create a symmetrical response to Iran. Tehran resorts to the fight against its enemy using asymmetric weapons, and Tel Aviv will respond in kind. It has its own interest in South Azerbaijan and Turkey. At the same time, her interest is not in following in the wake of American policy. Turkey and Iran (Persia) are historical rivals for dominance in the Middle East and Caucasus. According to journalist Pyotr Krymsky, “In this case, Ankara behaves quite independently in relation to the United States, playing its own party, which, in the event of an Iranian-American war, can bring Turkey significant dividends - from creating a Turkic autonomy in northern Iran to creating a full-fledged independent state. ”.
The question of how the interests of the United States, Israel and Turkey will converge at one point, how well their actions and actions of the South Azerbaijanis will be coordinated, we will see in the near future. In any case, the situation around South Azerbaijan shows that Iran, which feels invulnerable from the US and Israel, has serious “holes” in its defense.

You should not try on the skin of a lion to Azerbaijan. They did not solve the issue with Karabakh and are unlikely to be able to solve it themselves. But then an attempt to grab a piece from Iran may end badly for the state of Azerbaijan as a whole.

The name Otto von Bismarck doesn’t tell you anything ??? Most likely he doesn’t say !!!!
Prince, politician, statesman, first chancellor of the German Empire (Second Reich), nicknamed the "iron chancellor." He had the honorary rank of Prussian Colonel General in the rank of Field Marshal. At the end of the XNUMXth century, the balance of power maintained by Bismarck in Europe was finally disturbed, which led to the Iron Chancellor fearing the most: in two world wars Germany fought on two fronts and in both cases she was defeated.

The Germans are trying in every possible way to suppress the 30 million Azerbaijanis living there, but this is fueling the situation. No offense, but jackals kill innocent people as it was on January 20 in Baku, and in general if the Russian Federation was a strong side, it would have long ago solved the Karabakh problem. They themselves create separatism, and then they begin to panic. Georgia against the Russian Federation, the Baltic states against the Russian Federation, soon Azerbaijan and other Central Asia will be against, and you are talking about some kind of Eurasian Union. It turns out that all countries did not choose the right tactics, but the only Chekist rule of law, destroying the cultures of other countries?
