The large anti-submarine ship Admiral Tributs and the sea tanker Boris Butoma arrived at the Japanese port of Maizuru (Kyoto Prefecture). Earlier, the Admiral Tributs and Boris Butoma made friendly visits to the ports of India, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Korea and other countries in the region.
Head of the Information Support Department of the Eastern Military District Press Service for the Pacific Fleet Vladimir Matveyev told the media that the Russian BOD Admiral Tributs arrived in Maizuru not just on a friendly visit, but also to take part in exercises with Japanese ships naval forces. We are talking about rescue teachings bearing the name "SAREX".
Last fall, the large anti-submarine ship "Admiral Tributs", together with other ships of the Pacific Fleet, visited Chinese Zhangjiang to participate in the joint Russian-Chinese exercises "Sea Interaction-2016".
Before conducting joint exercises with Japanese sailors, Russian crews are said to take part in joint cultural and entertainment events, and see the sights of Maizuru.
In the course of joint exercises, the tasks of rescuing ships of various types in distress will be worked out.
