The Precision Instrumentation Systems Corporation (NPP SPP, part of Roscosmos) completed the commissioning work on installing the Sazhen-TM quantum-optical system (SBS) in the Republic of South Africa on the territory of the HartRA radio astronomy observatory (HartRAO).
“This is the second CBS of the foreign segment of the GLONASS measuring station network created by SPP in the framework of the Sigal design and development work provided for by the Federal Target Program“ Maintenance, Development and Use of the GLONASS System for 2012-2020 ”. In total, the foreign grouping of ground stations NPK SPP currently includes 4 non-query measuring stations (LSI) and 2 KOS. 1 CBS and 3 BISA are installed in Brazil, 1 BIS and 1 CBS are operating in South Africa, ”the release of Roskosmos says.
