Modular boat "Rescuer Kononenko" became part of the Northern Fleet

In Severodvinsk, the flag raising ceremony of the search and rescue vessels of the Russian Navy was held on the SMK-2176 “Rescuer Kononenko” modular boat (project 23370М).
“With the flag rising, the vessel officially became part of the emergency rescue squad of the SF. The name is assigned to the boat by order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Fleet Russia in recognition of merit and perpetuation of the memory of the former head of the emergency service of the Northern Fleet, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, captain 1st rank Yuri Vasilievich Kononenko. Severomorsk has become a permanent boat-based location, ”the Northern Fleet said in a statement.
The boat is equipped with advanced diving and fire fighting equipment.
Commander of the Federation Council Vice Admiral Nikolai Evmenov took part in the flag raising ceremony. He congratulated the crew on a significant event and called to be worthy of the memory of the older generations of seamen, rescuers.
Reference SF: "A series of multifunctional modular boats project 23370М developed by Moscow Shipbuilding Enterprise JSC KAMPO." A special feature of the construction of boats of this project is the delivery of the constructed modules to the location of the search and rescue forces of the fleets of the Russian Navy separately and the final assembly on site.
In August, the 2016 modules of the main multifunctional search and rescue boat SMK-2176 were delivered to the Murmansk Ship Repair Plant of the Marine Fleet, where in September their final docking took place. ”
