In Syria, the Russian GAZ-3308 has become the base for the MLRS "Vulkan"

The Russian truck GAZ-3308 "Sadko" became a real "workhorse" in the Syrian army: it transports people and weapons, installed an 57-mm cannon on it, the UR-83P (Zmey Gorynych) demining system, and now it has become the base for the MLRS "Vulkan".
“About the fact that from the" Sadko "you can make such a MLRS, probably, did not even suggest the designers of this machine. Although, there is nothing surprising in this, the predecessors - GAZ-63 and GAZ-66 - coped well with such a role. So, the 63-mm 140-8 BM-32-14 system launcher was mounted on the GAZ-17, later the MLRS was transferred to the GAZ-66, ”writes Roman Katkov in his article for Messenger of Mordovia.
According to him, the Syrians have been making shells for Vulcan for a long time. In these munitions significantly increased the weight of explosives, which greatly enhances the possibility of hitting targets.
The article notes that the MLRS "Vulkan" have a firing range of just a few kilometers, so they work on targets, as a rule, in the line of sight.
