The Federal PTS Service confirmed the information on the decision to transfer six MiGs to Serbia

In the spring of next year, Serbia will indeed receive 6 MiG-29 fighters as part of military assistance, said Anatoly Punchuk, deputy director of the Federal MTC Service.

The Federal PTS Service confirmed the information on the decision to transfer six MiGs to Serbia

“Indeed, this decision was made, the delivery of six MiG-29 will occur in March-April of next year after passing through technical regulations, since the aircraft will be transferred from the presence of the Ministry of Defense in the framework of military-technical cooperation. Serbia is our strategic partner ",
- said Punchuk correspondent RIA News.

Earlier, the Serbian Prime Minister Alexander Vucic said that he turned to Moscow with a request to supply the Serbian Air Force with a batch of MiG-29 fighter jets in the order of military-technical assistance. He also noted that he intends to discuss this issue during his visit to Moscow on December 21.

And let’s you google yourself how many times the USSR has filed applications for joining NATO, as well as the BSSR and the USSR — they also submitted separate applications. Absolutely correct. Moreover, the aircraft almost exhausted the resource. It may be more expensive to dispose of, or comparable in cost. These are not the latest models to deliver to our allies. But the Serbs need air defense, they took a sip of the NATO bombing and did not forget. And they did not forget the genocide in Kosovo, and how they lost the country, and Milosevic, like the rotters, was not forgotten either. And to them these planes are the very thing. This expensive equipment is already being withdrawn from parts and changing to a new one, so it’s not so expensive. And we get the Serbian population who, going to their next elections, will know that the pro-Russian candidate is not a talker and demagogue, but indeed, Russia helps the Serb brothers , for example, and helps to equip the native Air Force.
In addition, it is possible to establish mutually beneficial cooperation with the Serbs in the broadest areas (from science and the training of their officers to business). If this is not enough for anyone, then 4 Serbian air bases will always be happy to accept Russian brothers. Or let's forget for friendship and let them join NATO, NATO’s wings are based there? We have to act energetically, the allies just don’t fall from the sky, even if they are Serbs smile

Serbs live in the Balkans among non-friends (to put it mildly). We need not buy, but reorient them to cooperate with us in all spheres (culture, economy, science, etc.) and provide guarantees of military protection It is difficult to compete with the EU, and even with such big turmoil in our own economy, but passively watching how they rake up allies and drive them into an anti-Russian bloc is worst of all. Let's hope that we can develop positively over time, become for our allies not only a mother and an older brother, but also a mutually beneficial partner. The Serbs must not be lost, we must fight. Nobody knows what will happen to the Balkans, and indeed to Europe in 5,10 years. Therefore, we must not be ashamed to say now that we have our own interests in the Balkans and not be like the drunk Yeltsin who left Serbs 1 on 1 with the strongest military bloc. If you think that these moments are more profitable to restore and sell (who really will buy in such a configuration for a good amount?), then the owner is the master and the hand of the lord. I say that this will help the development-confidence of our bilateral relations; and will allow Serbian pilots not to sit on the ground, but to fly fully until completely new machines from our defense factories come up, and the Serbian government will then be able to purchase them at domestic Russian prices, like ours a military ally and a distributor of our interests in the Balkans. Of course, there are many "ifs" in my plans, but if everything is measured by momentary benefits and a passive policy, then losing all friends and allies will not become stronger and richer from this.

That's it. Considering that the MiG-29s in Russia are largely "rare" (all were mainly in the western direction of the USSR), Russia did not get many of them (unlike the Su-27 (which actually explains the Sukhoi's success in front of MiGs in Russia). And the Serbs are just right to update the park (6 pcs. Is that the number?).

And how many would you like to offer. A hundred, two? We ourselves will not get so many. Yes, they still need to be brought to the level of airworthiness, to provide resources for the airframe, engines, equipment, etc. etc. And this requires money, which we do not have so much.

And do not regret, money always has "even mom" winked The time has come, instead of setting. Many states certainly want to get weapons for free --- but what are we? traders? you need to know who to give. This is actually visible.
