The representative of the Indonesian search and rescue agency Ivan Ahmad Riski Titus reports that the plane took off from the airfield in the city of Timika and was heading towards the town of Wamena.
The crash site was discovered by rescuers. It is located on the slope of the mountain Lisuva. There is an operation to deliver the dead to the Indonesian Air Force base.
Earlier, President Joko Widodo promised to support the program of updating the fleet of transport aircraft after the collapse of a military aircraft in another Indonesian province. Then the investigation team found that the cause of the crash was a malfunction in the engines of the aircraft.
